Rules for the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup

The T20 World Cup will follow the T20 format where each team plays 20 overs unless bowled out earlier or the team batting second reaches their target. Key rules include:

Powerplay: Each innings starts with a six-over powerplay with specific fielding restrictions.
Match Duration: Matches last three hours and 10 minutes, with each innings allocated one hour and 25 minutes, separated by a 20-minute interval.
Stop-Clock Rule: The bowling side must be ready to bowl each over within 60 seconds of the previous one finishing.
Reviews: Each side is allowed two unsuccessful reviews per innings.
Super Over: In case of a tie, a super over will determine the winner. If the super over also ties, additional super overs will be played until a winner is found.
Minimum Overs: In group phases, at least five overs per side are required for a result. This increases to 10 overs in the semi-finals and final.
DLS Method: The Duckworth Lewis Stern (DLS) method will be use for weather-affected matches.
Reserve Days: The first semi-final and final have a reserve day. The second semi-final has an additional 250 minutes allocated if required.

Majority of Indian Squad Set to Fly out for T20 WC

The majority of the Indian cricket team, along with their extensive support staff, will be departing for New York on May 25 in preparation for the T20WorldCup. The remaining players will join them after the IPL final on May 26.

Change in Travel Plans for Indian Team

Initially, players from teams that did not qualify for the IPL play-offs were ready to leave for New York on May 21. Two days after the final IPL league game on May 19. However, there has been a change in plans, and now the first group will leave on May 25.

Key Players Departing on May 25
