Jofra Archer continues preparations for England’s T20 World Cup campaign

Jofra Archer continued his preparations for next month’s T20 World Cup by winning his all-round match at the weekend to help Barbadian Wildies reach the final of their domestic tournament. Archer recently named in England’s provisional 15-man squad for both the World Cup and the preceding four-match Twenty series against Pakistan.

He donned his England helmet and scored 54 not out from just 20 balls, including five sixes, to help his team to a formidable 191 for six against Carlton. It was his third half-century in a row. He then took three for 16 to claim a 33-run victory and help Wildey reach the final of the Barbados Cricket Association T20 Cup, which will take place after he flies home.

Archer’s Preparation for the T20 World Cup: Focus on Pakistan Series

One of his wickets went viral when a Carlton batsman tried to bowl to him but lost his stump, which rolled out of the ground in spectacular fashion. Archer, who has not played international cricket since March 2023 due to a problem right elbow, will begin his World Cup preparations in earnest during the Pakistan series, which starts at Headingley on May 22.

His last international match came on March 14, 2023, and he has since recovered from a long-term right elbow injury and will use the Pakistan series to prepare for England’s Caribbean title defense, which begins on June 4 against Scotland in Barbados.
