In an effort to assemble a team that can compete in the Six Nations. Warren Gatland and his coaching staff will be trying out a number of individuals. Considering that a new World Cup cycle has begun. The coaches will also need to determine when to give particular individuals their chance at the Test level and devise a long-term succession plan.
Before the Wales coaching team names, the squad in mid-January, rugby expert Steffan Thomas evaluates the important questions they will be considering over Christmas. There are barely three games remaining for the Welsh-based players to make an impression before selections are made.
Who wears the number 10 jersey?
It makes sense that, with Dan Biggar’s departure from Test rugby and Gareth Anscombe’s relocation to Japan. Gatland has picked outside as a position where Wales needs to add some depth. Sam Costelow, 22, will undoubtedly have gained a lot of knowledge from Anscombe and Biggar in France, and based on the World Cup roster. It is safe to believe he will be given a chance.

For the 2022 Autumn Series, Costelow was included in the Wales roster. In 2022, against New Zealand, Costelow was named on the bench due to a last-minute team change. He made his test debut in the second half. Prior to the 2023 Rugby World Cup, Costelow received a call-up to the 54-man Wales training squad on May 1, 2023.
Though Costelow is highly regarded by the Wales management and undoubtedly possesses all the skills needed to succeed on the international stage. He may not have much rugby left by the start of the Six Nations due to a shoulder issue. Ioan Lloyd, a recent addition for the Scarlets, is arguably the best outside-half in Welsh rugby this season.
Eyes on Ioan Lloyd
The west Welshmen have had a difficult start to the season, but Lloyd has been a bright spot. Lloyd did not make any of the match-day squads. But he was included in the Welsh rugby union test team for July 2021. Following a breakthrough season for Bristol in which he went from being a reserve player to a first-team starter. Lloyd was voted the Discovery of the Season in 2021.
Wales Six Nations Tickets | France Six Nations Tickets | WalesVsFrance Tickets | Six Nations 2024 Tickets | Six Nations tickets | Guinness Six Nations Tickets
Lloyd, who is well-known for his flexibility, has filled in at fly-half, center, wing, and fullback in addition to covering scrum half in times of injury. Prior to the 2022–23 Premiership Rugby season, Bristol head coach Pat Lam stated that inside center would be Lloyd’s long-term emphasis. It was revealed on April 18, 2023, that Lloyd will be replacing the Scarlets in 2023–2024.
Lloyd is a lethal attacking weapon with excellent goal-kicking skills. He is maybe the most innately talented player in Wales. However, the issue that Gatland and his teammates will undoubtedly be asking themselves is whether he can manage a game under the intense strain of the Six Nations. Or whether he can strike the ideal mix between kicking and rushing the ball.
The safe choice would be the seasoned playmaker Owen Williams of the Ospreys, but he is prone to injuries. While Callum Sheedy and Jarrod Evans have been doing well for the Bristol Bears and Harlequins, accordingly. At full-back, what should to do?
Gatland faces further dilemmas with the number 15 shirt because Liam Williams is playing in Japan. Leigh Halfpenny has withdrawn from international competition. Rio Dyer may play on the wing, and Gatland could switch Josh Adams or Louis Rees-Zammit to full-back.
The alternative is to blood a new player. Although Rees-Zammit has donned the number 15 jersey for Wales previously and has appeared at ease in that role. During the summer, Cai Evans was a member of Gatland’s World Cup training squad. He performed admirably in his Test debut against South Africa.
Since joining the Dragons from the Ospreys. The 24-year-old has excelled and is arguably the most similar to Halfpenny in terms of flair. Evans is a trustworthy player in defense as well as aerial play. He has a cannon of a boot and makes superb goal kicks.

His error rate is incredibly low, and although he might not have the extra edge that someone like Rees-Zammit would. He is still a top-tier distributor who seldom ever makes the incorrect decision. Cameron Winnett, a young full-back from Cardiff. He is regarded as the number 15 player in Wales; former British & and Irish Lions captain Sam Warburton is a huge supporter.
The 24-year-old on the wing has so far been chosen by the New Zealander over Scarlets full-back Tom Rogers. He was also a part of Gatland’s extended World Cup squad.
At the tighthead prop, fresh blood?
It might be an issue because the three tight ends that Gatland chose for his World Cup team currently work outside of Wales. In addition to having to return to their club on fallow weekends. Tomas Francis (Provence Rugby), Henry Thomas (Montpellier), and Dillon Lewis (Harlequins) will be unable to attend the training camp in preparation for the Six Nations.
The knowledgeable Because of his skill in scrummaging. Francis continues to be one of Wales’ most valuable players and Thomas and Lewis both have a wealth of experience. Naturally, Gatland might choose to include more than three tight ends in his team. It would address the issue of availability. However, given that Australia will host the 2027 World Cup.
Wales Six Nations Tickets | France Six Nations Tickets | WalesVsFrance Tickets | Six Nations 2024 Tickets | Six Nations tickets | Guinness Six Nations Tickets
He most likely needs to add some new players. Reports say that Gatland was highly happy with Kieran Assiratti’s summertime efforts. Although he didn’t quite cut, the 26-year-old Cardiff prop has an international career ahead of him. Not only is Assiratti a lively and highly skilled rugby player, but in the last few seasons, his scrummaging has also significantly improved.
Striking the perfect mix between youth and experience. With players like Dan Biggar, Gareth Anscombe, Leigh Halfpenny, and Liam Williams out of the picture since the World Cup, Wales has lost a lot of experience. All international coaches will be scouting young prospects throughout the next few years, as well, as the World Cup cycle has just begun.
A Remarkable Competition
However, the Six Nations is rugby extremely significant competition where victory is paramount, so Gatland will have to strike the correct balance between winning and bleeding players. Gatland may select several younger players in his Six Nations team to help them get used to the demands of international rugby. The trip to Australia next summer may be a better opportunity to give youth its chance.

This season, several players have performed admirably, including Mackenzie Martin, Eddie James, Immanuel Feyi-Waboso, Ellis Bevan, and Cameron Winnett. Even though he is a little bit older, Morgan Morris has been an excellent player for the Ospreys over the past several seasons. It will be interesting to watch where Gatland ends up.

This is the England team for the start of the Six Nations 2024
With less than 100 days remaining until the start of the Six Nations 2024, Steve Borthwick’s selection will be more of an evolution than a revolution. Speaking to Felix Jones in the bowels of the Stade de France at 1.15am on Sunday morning, I knew the Six Nations would unfold very quickly. You can also read Ahead of Six Nations Steve Borthwick handed boost amid England back row injury crisis.
Jones will be with England for the tournament and, even after his second successive World Cup triumph with the Springboks, he was kind enough to answer questions about his future with Steve Borthwick’s side.
They have laid a very strong foundation at this World Cup from which they are ready to move forward, the Dubliner said. England open their tournament in Rome on February 3, just 95 days from now. For Borthwick, this time will fly by, and although his goal is evolution rather than revolution, difficult challenges lie ahead. Here’s a team he could pick.
Freddie Steward
Borthwick has already demonstrated that the choice of defender will be determined by a game plan specific to England’s opponents and weather conditions. Steward’s solidity suits a Six Nations start that is never particularly pretty. We know Borthwick likes a second playmaker and it’s safe to say we won’t see the last of Marcus Smith here despite a difficult evening against Argentina. As Max Malins and Henry Arundell move to new clubs they will be closely watched, as will Exeter’s Josh Hodge when he returns from injury.
Tom Roebuck
Jonny May is retiring and Anthony Watson’s experience will be valuable to England in the next cycle. However, they also need to step up their back line. Borthwick introduced Ollie Hassell-Collins, who failed to take his chance, while Roebuck is an equally strong athlete. He has developed well at Sale Sharks and is scoring a lot of tries.

13. Ollie Lawrence
Joe Marchand’s move to Stade Français after a tournament in which he was one of England’s best players leaves the midfield uncertain. Will Henry Slade return after being left out of the tournament? Hard to tell. Moving Lawrence outside center puts the 24-year-old in arguably his best position. He now has 21 caps and is ready to move on.
12. Dan Kelly
While Manu Tuilagi remains available, it is surely time for England to bite the bullet and create a new domestic center. Gloucester’s Seb Atkinson is 21 and Kelly is 22. Borthwick knows the latter, who has won one cap in 2021 and looks set to start Leicester Tigers’ Six Nations this year. Any one of them can solve a problematic position over time.
11. Elliot Daly
Daly was fantastic in the semi-final against South Africa and clearly has more to show at the top level. There aren’t many players in England with a back three, which adds to his value, and the feeling is that Borthwick will select an experienced striker to complement any new signing. Rugby fans can book France Vs England Tickets on our website at exclusively discounted prices.
10. Owen Farrell
Much more pressing than the question of Farrell’s presence is the question of whether George Ford or Marcus Smith will be in the 23rd round. Because three can make a crowd. Farrell would look better with a ball-moving inside center like Kelly or Atkinson.
9. Alex Mitchell
Having learned on the job to provide what the semi-final game plan requires, namely accurate kicking and stout defence, Mitchell deserves the chance to show he can be part of the path forward. A wider setup should suit him and after rising from fourth to first place it was just the beginning for Northampton Saint.

Ellis Genge
Humiliated during his cameo in the semi-finals, Guingue showed character in his comeback against Argentina. He is an important leader who, at 28, should be entering the prime of his career as a player, and England need him because Joe Marler is leaving.
Theo Dan
Time in the saddle is critical for Dan. The 22-year-old will be looking to hone his set-piece responsibilities, mainly throw-ins and scrums, in addition to being a tough ball handler. The start of the upcoming Six Nations and Saracens becoming more prominent will provide a good platform for the coming years.
Will Stuart
After a curious World Cup where he seemed destined for more playing time, Stewart will have to step up. Dan Cole leaves a significant hole and a solid scrum will have to be a priority because mistakes there will cost England dearly. Stewart also has the potential to improve offensively.
Maro Itoje
England’s line-out leader had another fine World Cup and Borthwick is confident he will retain him as an integral figure. At 29, Itoje is here to stay and will be a prime candidate for one of Rugby Football Union’s hybrid contracts. His club connections with Dan can be an excellent support for a young prostitute.
Ollie Chessum
Recovering from a horrific injury, Chessum showed serious character during the World Cup and continued his work at the 2023 Six Nations. He held the width against Samoa and raced forward to try. As always, Borthwick will balance the back five according to his strategy. However, the England manager has always liked the hybrid striker playing as a blindside flanker and is having to adapt to the departure of Courtney Lawes.
Six Nations Tickets | Guinness Six Nations Tickets
George Martin
Injured in his outstanding performance against the Springboks, Martin should be an integral part of the England team from now on. He beats opposition runners, holds mauls and adds crucial ballast to a scrum behind a strong base. When he and Chessum played together for England at the World Cup, the latter stayed put. They are probably interchangeable. Over time, as the match against Leicester Tigers showed, Martin should also become an impressive player. You can also see Tom Pearson, Lewis Ludlum, Jack Kenningham, Tom Curry or Chessum in the six shirts.
Tom Curry
After a difficult campaign that included a red card and a semi-final failure, Curry will be hungry to make his mark in the Six Nations. It will be interesting to see how often he is used as a lineout player and whether England can get him the ball through wide channels. If Borthwick wants to play him at open side flanker, Pearson, Ludlam, Cunningham or one of Chessum or Martin can carry six on their back.
Ben Earl
In three months, Earl had gone from being a fringe player to arguably England’s most valuable defender. This combination clearly keeps him at the heart of the scrum, although he can also operate as an open side flanker, perhaps with Tom Willis at number 8. Rugby fans can book France Vs IrelandTickets on our website at exclusively discounted prices.
Replacements
Jamie George
George is hoping to reach World Cup number four in 2027 and is likely to spend much of the next cycle mentoring Dan and the other hookers.

Fin Baxter
Bevan Rodd’s scrum is something of a question mark and unless Val Rapava-Ruskin returns from the cold, Baxter could emerge as a handy set piece prop. Joe Marler is his colleague at Harlequins, where he is coached by Adam Jones.
Kyle Sinckler
Joe Hayes could eventually force his way into the starting lineup, with Ehren Paynter and James Harper the other two options. Sinclair is on a one-year contract with Bristol Bears and his future is uncertain.
Sam Underhill
Italy itself has a well-balanced back row that usually includes Sebastian Negri, Michele Lamaro or Manuel Zuliani and Lorenzo Cannone. They’ll probably give England a thorough look. Underhill certainly looked determined to revive his Test career in the third-place play-off.
Tom Willis
The competition in the back row is fierce. Ludlam has been a tenacious utility specialist and No. 8 specialists are in line. Willis traveled to Kingsholm and scored two tries against Zach Mercer, which shows the kind of competitor Saracens have signed.
Ben Spencer
Jack van Poortvliet will hope to be fit, but if not, Spencer will bring control of his shots and a tidy serve. Raffie Quirke could also be an explosive game-changer.
Six Nations Tickets | Guinness Six Nations Tickets
George Ford
Don’t be afraid. We still have a few years left in the Farrell-Ford debate. Marcus Smith’s concussion in the quarter-final delayed a difficult decision as he was not available for selection against the Springboks, but the question of whether three halves fit into round 23 will return soon enough.
Anthony Watson
It’s hard to imagine too many teams without Watson when he’s fit and available. However, at the age of 30, he plays both as a defender and on the wing, adding know-how and quality.
Antoine Dupont: France star admits he is a ‘little bit scared’ after switching to rugby sevens for Olympics
Antoine Dupont has said he is very excited but a little scared at the prospect of representing France in the rugby sevens tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The 27-year-old will miss the Six Nations 2024, which runs from February 2 to March 16, to join his country’s Sevens programme.
He will then return to club team Toulouse for the rest of the season before switching back to rugby sevens for the Olympics. “It’s going to be a very busy year for me, but I’m enjoying it, I’m really excited about it,” Dupont told BBC Radio 5 Live. I will have to work hard to be competitive in all competitions.
“I think the last time it was under 18s, but it’s the same sport and there are a lot of similarities. I’ll have to do my best. I often get calls from a trainer to try and learn some skills, and I will try to learn by watching the game. Yes, it’s difficult [to miss the Six Nations] but unfortunately I have to make a choice.”
The Paris Rugby Sevens 2024 tournament will take place from 24 to 30 July at the Stade de France in Paris. The French men’s rugby sevens team has not had the best track record since the sport’s inclusion in the Olympic programme. They finished seventh at Rio 2016 but failed to qualify for Tokyo 2020.

Having automatically qualified for Paris 2024 as hosts, France are pulling out all the stops by attracting big-name stars like Dupont. The clash involved France, who lost to South Africa in a dramatic Rugby World Cup quarter-final in October.
Dupont explained that grief motivates him to return to winning ways, starting with the Investec Champions Cup with Toulouse. The five-time champions have made an impressive start to this season’s tournament. Toulouse thrashed Harlequins 47-19 last weekend, adding to their convincing 52-7 win over Cardiff Rugby.
“When you lose a competition, you want to do something else to try to win again, Dupont added. The Champions Cup is always a special competition for us and I think we have seen over the last two weeks that we are very motivated for this competition.”

Antoine Dupont, the standout scrum-half, will shift focus to France Six Nations training in January, potentially sidelining him for the entire tournament. The First game will be played France vs Ireland in Six Nations 2024 on Friday 2 February 2024. The last game of the Six Nations 2024 will be played by France vs England on March 16, 2024. Meanwhile, England’s captain, Owen Farrell, has opted for a break from international rugby, making him unavailable for the championship.
In the lead-up to the France Six Nations campaign, expect a flurry of player announcements and intensified media coverage closer to the tournament’s opening match in February. Under the guidance of manager Sylvain Calvet, the French management has strategically organized a preparatory camp at CNR-Bernard Lapasset. Scheduled from January 2nd to 8th, 2024, this assembly marks their first gathering since autumn, following the World Cup held in France.
This preparatory camp serves as not just a reunion but also a pivotal opportunity for less-experienced players to acquaint themselves with international rugby. It is a chance for them to refine their skills and strategies before the France Six Nations Tournament. The camp’s agenda also includes a friendly match against Italy’s team in Parma on January 6, further enhancing the team’s preparation.
France Six Nations 2024 Challenges and Anticipation
Amidst the excitement surrounding the France Six Nations preparation, the initial camp has selected 26 players, notably excluding some key contributors to the World Cup success like Posolo Tuilagi, Baptiste Jauneau, Paul Costes, and Nicolas Depoortere, who have been shining in the Top 14. However, the absence of these players is expected to be compensated for by emerging talents from France’s robust youth pipeline.
France Six Nations Tickets
Notably, talents like Emilien Gailleton and Louis Bielle-Biarrey, initially chosen for the World Cup over the team, are anticipated to join the senior squad for the France Six Nations 2024. Looking ahead, as the Bleuets gear up for their return, the path is laden with both anticipation and challenges. The team’s performance in the Six Nations Tournament will play a pivotal role.
As they embark on this journey, the Rugbynistere, a revered rugby site in France, invites readers to contribute their thoughts, concerns, or suggestions regarding the team’s preparation and prospects for the upcoming tournament. Having trained with Fabien Galthie’s side earlier this year and obtaining French citizenship, Meafou eagerly awaits Galthie’s squad announcement for the upcoming Six Nations. While remaining focused on the matches, he shared his hopes of being among the selected 42 players.
I’ll give everything if I’m lucky enough to wear the blue jersey, France Six Nations Meafou added, emphasizing his dedication to representing France. The team’s campaign begins against holders Ireland on February 2. However, Galthie faces challenges with the absence of Captain Antoine Dupont, who will be preparing for seven-a-side rugby at the Paris Olympic Games. Additionally, England’s Tom Curry will miss the Six Nations tournament due to a hip injury that necessitates surgery, ruling him out for the remainder of the season with Sale in the English Premiership.
Injuries Blow Impact on France Six Nations Campaign
Tom needs a clear out of his hip that will put him out for the rest of this season. This is the only option,” stated Sales Director of Rugby Alex Sanderson, confirming Curry is unfortunately sidelined from both club and international duties for the upcoming France Six Nations. In the scope of the season, it may seem like a distant stretch, but it is not. Even for a young player, ensuring his short-term recovery is crucial for his long-term durability and progression in the game.
France Six Nations Tickets
The red flags were out that maybe there was something deeper here and there is,” explained the team regarding the need to prioritize the player’s health and training regime. This decision is aimed at enabling him to train and develop his game more consistently and robustly in the future. The injury marks a challenging period for the player, who recently faced an allegation of racial abuse during the World Cup although France Six Nations World Rugby closed the case due to insufficient evidence unless new information surfaces.
England’s plans for the upcoming France Six Nations will now have to adjust without this pivotal player. With 50 caps to his name, Curry was a cornerstone of their team whenever available. His absence during the 2023 Six Nations due to a hamstring injury, coupled with prior ankle ligament damage during England’s World Cup preparations, has made his recent injury setback particularly significant.
A two-match ban early in the World Cup following a red card for a dangerous tackle against Argentina further disrupted Curry’s involvement in the tournament. Despite Sale’s current strong position atop the Premiership, securing five wins in their opening six matches, sustaining their title bid will require navigating the season without Curry’s contributions.
England’s Six Nations Eligibility Update
Ahead of the France Six Nations, England received promising injury news concerning Ben Earl on Tuesday. Saracens confirmed that the flanker, who sustained a knee injury. During their win over Harlequins, is expected to recover in time for the tournament. Earl’s impressive performances as No 8 for England during the World Cup make his potential return a significant boost for the squad.

RFU CEO Bill Sweeney addressed eligibility concerns for players like Henry Arundell and Jack Willis. Arundell, France Six Nations despite joining French club Racing 92 following London Irish’s demise. Will be eligible for England’s Six Nations due to ‘special circumstances’ outlined by the RFU. In contrast, Willis, despite his contract extension with Toulouse. Will not be eligible, having exceeded the RFU’s 12-month window meant to accommodate players seeking new clubs. After the collapse of Irish, Wasps, and Worcester last season.

After that, this list is put to a vote by the general public, with the winner being declared. The Edinburgh flanker Watson waited just over a year for another opportunity to play for his country. He seized it, taking his unwavering club form to the national squad lineup and going on to take home the starting seven shirts. Watson has been a mainstay of the Scotland lineup for more than five years. His performance has been consistent throughout, and in 2021.

Cardiff’s Winnett is perhaps the best full-back in Wales, having garnered high praise for his efforts at the regional level this year. Winnet is a beautiful football player who plays great defense and can score goals with ease.
Immanuel Feyi-Waboso, the wing for Exeter Chiefs, is also extremely talented and one of the most lethal finishers in the English Premier League. Back Three: Cameron Winnett, Cai Evans, Rio Dyer, Josh Adams, Louis Rees-Zammit, and Immanuel Feyi-Waboso. Rugby fans can book Wales Vs France Tickets on our website at exclusively discounted prices.
Wales: Centers
By the next World Cup, Gatland will undoubtedly seek to build a center partnership, much like he did with Jamie Roberts and Jonathan Davies, who were able to read each other’s plays telepathically. George North and Nick Tompkins both had fantastic World Cup seasons. But Gatland for no reason of his own won’t want to wait until the very end of the game to establish a solid center-field combo this time around.

Mason Grady is a player about whom everyone should be excited, as the 21-year-old possesses all the necessary skills to succeed in the Test arena. Wales might investigate playing Grady on the wing, as he has been doing for Cardiff this season, but in the long run, 13 is probably going to be his position.
Although Keiran Williams has performed admirably for the Ospreys this season, does he possess the quickness to develop into a top-tier Test player? We’ll find out in time. While Joe Roberts is out due to injury, Eddie James, a teammate for the Scarlets, has a lot of potential despite having little experience.
Although Johnny Williams, a strong center for the Scarlets, is expected to be in the frame, he hasn’t played at his best yet this season. It will be intriguing to see if Ben Thomas can continue to build on his fantastic performance from Cardiff’s close loss to Bath.

Wales: Half-backs
Upon being asked where the cupboard was most empty for Wales going forward this journalist, Gatland promptly pointed out the number 10 and 15 jerseys as areas that required additional reinforcement in depth. As Biggar has retired and Gareth Anscombe has relocated to Japan.
Wales will have to endure some suffering at first five for the next few years. Even though he still hopes to be included in the summer tour of Australia. Sam Costelow, a playmaker for the Scarlets, suffered an injury against the Barbarians. Now he is casting doubt on his ability to participate in the Wales Six Nations despite the Wales management’s great faith in him and their belief that he will grow into a brilliant player.
In February, possibly, the 22-year-old will be healthy and available, and if he is, Costelow will almost certainly be Gatland’s first pick when they play Scotland. Ioan Lloyd is now the form number 10 in Wales for this season. Although the former Bristol Bears star is perhaps one of Wales’ most naturally gifted competitors. It is unclear if he will be able to maintain control of the situation at the Test level.

Harlequins Stars
We comprehend the outside half of Harlequins Although having fewer than twenty-five caps, Jarrod Evans is also eligible for selection. He plays outside of Wales since he did not receive a serious bid from a Welsh region. Additionally, Callum Sheedy, who is returning to playing regularly for the Bristol Bears after a very trying 18 months, is likely someone Gatland will look closely at.
As a second-half substitution, Sheedy had a significant impact on the Wales Six Nations 2021 winning campaign, demonstrating his exceptional ability. He’s still got enough to give Wales at the age of 28, and he’ll be there for the next World Cup, along with playmaker Owen Williams of the Ospreys. Scrum-half follows a slightly simpler formula. Although Gareth Davies is still unquestionably the greatest number nine for Wales.
His chances of playing in the next World Cup are slim at 33. Gatland should support him for the time being while simultaneously making Tomos Williams the front-runner.
Half-backs: Ioan Lloyd, Tomos Williams, Callum Sheedy, Sam Costelow, Kieran Hardy, and Gareth Davies

Wales: Front-row
Gatland’s first-choice looseheads in the front row will probably continue to be Ospreys duo Gareth Thomas and Nicky Smith. During Wales’ World Cup campaign, Thomas was exceptional, making him one of the most underappreciated stars in this Wales team. There is a compelling argument to reinstate Rhys Carre, however.
It would be surprising if Gatland took that course of action considering that he dropped Carre from his expanded World Cup roster after he failed to meet the necessary fitness standards. Although Corey Domachowski hasn’t yet had a standout performance for Wales, the coaches have made significant investments in him, so it’s likely that the prop from Cardiff will stay in the starting lineup.
A more serious problem is tighthead. Since being unexpectedly brought into the Wales squad in 2015, Tomas Francis has been an excellent member of the team. However, he will be playing for Provence in the second division of French rugby next season. Though he will be 35 years old at the next World Cup, is playing every week in the PROD2 a sufficient preparation.

Fitness Issues
Particularly in terms of fitness, for the demands of Test rugby? He is still Wales’ top scrummager. It’s also important to note that coming season, all three of the tighthead props who were a part of Gatland’s World Cup team, will be working outside of Wales.
With the fact that they will have to return to their clubs on fallow weekends and miss the training session before the Six Nations, that may be a problem. I think that tighthead is Wales’ weakest point, and over the next four years, Gatland will do everything in his power to find a devastating scrummager.
Henry Thomas, who plays for Top 14 team Montpellier, and the seasoned Dillon Lewis, who plays for Harlequins, are the players he might continue to choose. Although Keiron Assiratti impressed Gatland over the summer, the Dragons prop Leon Brown has never been able to maintain his fitness.

Front-row: The following people: Dewi Lake, Elliot Dee, Corey Domachowski, Tomas Francis, Henry Thomas, Nicky Smith, Gareth Thomas, Kieron Assiratti and Ryan Elias
Wales: Second-row
Gatland’s goal for the upcoming seasons is to strengthen their front five a little bit. One of the initials on Gatland’s squad sheet is Adam Beard, who may not be to everyone’s taste, but it would be surprising if teenage lock Dafydd Jenkins of the Exeter Chiefs didn’t develop into an experienced competitor for the next several years. At the age of 36 in 2027, Will Rowlands is expected to stay in the team for the time being.
Teddy Williams, a standout player for Cardiff, and rough Ospreys second-row Rhys Davies will both be vying for a spot in the starting lineup. Cardiff forward Seb Davies and Christ Tshiunza are further options available to Gatland. James Fender, a youthful second-row player for the Ospreys who impressed during their Friday night triumph over the Sharks, could be considered for the upcoming several seasons.
Second-rows: Teddy Williams, Will Rowlands, Christ Tshiunza, Rhys Davies, Dafydd Jenkins, and Adam Beard
Wales: Back-row
Getting Taulupe Faletau over to the next World Cup, when he will be 36, is one of the main concerns Gatland will have.
Wales Six Nations Tickets | France Six Nations Tickets | WalesVsFrance Tickets | Six Nations 2024 Tickets | Six Nations tickets | Guinness Six Nations Tickets
Faletau is the only player who is eligible to play Test rugby at that age, and considering how important he is to Wales, it’s likely that he will be provided with care and have his playing time closely monitored in the hopes of making it to Australia in 2027.
However, Gatland will need to replace Faletau, and he already had one in Aaron Wainwright, who performed admirably during the World Cup. Morgan Morris (Ospreys, No. 8) is one guy who will be very hard to ignore.
Over the previous few years, the 25-year-old has continuously performed admirably at the regional level, never scoring less than a seven out of ten. Despite not being the largest. He is a dynamic carrier with a little expertise in his sleeve thanks to his work at the breakdown, unwavering defense, and excellent footwork.
Season biggest success story
While many in Welsh rugby hold Carwyn Tuipulotu in high regard, Cardiff’s Mackenzie Martin has emerged as one of the season’s biggest success stories in the first few months.

The 20-year-old is not just a true physical specimen but also an athlete with amazing footwork and explosiveness.
Morgan Morse, a young back-rower for the Ospreys, is another player who may factor into the mix in the upcoming seasons, although the 18-year-old may find the Wales Six Nations to be too soon.
Back-row: Tommy Reffell, Taulupe Faletau, Mackenzie Martin, Morgan Morris, Aaron Wainwright, Taine Basham and captain Jac Morgan

We’re monitoring every aspect of each competitor’s involvement in the greatest competition as the Six Nations 2024 gets closer. During Gatland’s illustrious first stint as head coach of Wales. The team won the Guinness Six Nations championship in 2008, 2012, and 2019. They advanced to the World Cup semifinals in 2011 and 2019.
Thanks to a historic victory over Australia in Lyon on Sunday night. The 60-year-old has now assisted Wales in becoming the first team to advance to the 2023 Rugby World Cup quarterfinals. Currently leading Wales to victory in France. These are five of the greatest games during Gatland’s two tenures as Wales manager.
Wales Vs France- 29-12: 2008
Warren Gatland’s first duty, like his second spell, was to supervise a Six Nations competition after Wales finished sixth the previous year. Though nobody could have predicted such rapid success. Their stunning victory against France which secured their second Grand Slam in four Tournaments served as a metaphor for their swift turnaround.

Les Bleus could not overcome the whitewash against Gatland’s team. Ending their triumphant campaign with a Six Nations record of just two tries conceded in five games. Shane Williams became the all-time top try scorer for Wales at the hour mark with his 41st try. He secured the result. Three further minutes were added by Martyn Williams at the end to put the cherry on top and really kickstart Gatland’s reign.
England Vs Wales-12-19: 2012
Warren Gatland contributed another Grand Slam to his resume four years later. This Triple Crown-winning performance at Twickenham was probably the best of the lot. In the best of circumstances. It may be challenging to get to England’s headquarters during the Six Nations. Particularly when the defending champions are lurking nearby.
However, after Leigh Halfpenny and Owen Farrell each scored four penalties, substitute Scott Williams emerged victorious in the final moments. In the final five minutes, Williams tore the ball from Courtney Lawes’s grasp halfway, kicked through, and recovered to dive over the marker.

England vs Wales-25-28: 2015
Not to mention Gatland’s maiden rule. This legendary Twickenham victory is among the most unforgettable Wales victories of all time. He was undoubtedly a Rugby World Cup highlight. In barely three minutes, Owen Farrell answered a three-pointer from Dan Biggar, who had already scored the game’s opening points. Throughout a close and suspenseful contest, the two players tallied twelve three-pointers between them.
With ten minutes remaining, Wales and Biggar were behind 25–18, and they had to change the game. When England’s Brad Barritt raced up on defense, the fly half fizzed a miss-pass out to Jamie Roberts, who was suddenly in a two-on-one scenario. Several injuries to Wales’ back-line forced the third-choice scrum half, Lloyd Williams, to be introduced on the wing.

Roberts dropped the ball onto Williams. His grubber found starting No. 9 Gareth Davies, who slid over to score in between the sticks after catching the ball that was bouncing about his ankles. Biggar completed one of Wales’s best days by adding the extras and then, with six minutes remaining, kicking the game’s winning penalty from halfway.
Wales Vs Ireland-25-7: 2019
The year that saw Wales soar to the top of the world rankings for the first time since its inception in 2003 also saw them decisively defeat Ireland to secure the fourth Grand Slam of the Six Nations era. Although Ireland had won the Championship handily the year before, Wales, who were keen to give Warren Gatland the ultimate send-off, showed no mercy in Joe Schmidt’s final Guinness Six Nations match as head coach.
Hadleigh Parkes and Jordan Larmour’s tries served as the game’s bookends, with Gareth Anscombe’s excellent kicking proving to be the difference between the sides. This was a record-breaking third Grand Slam for Warren Gatland and a historic 14th victory in a row for Wales.

Wales Vs Australia-40-6: 2023
Wales only managed one victory in the 2023 Guinness Six Nations, marking a difficult start to Gatland’s second stint, but they seem to have found their footing at the World Cup in France. They had a chance to guarantee their spot in the last eight with one game remaining when they faced Australia in Lyon.
They accomplished all of that and more, inflicting the Wallabies their worst-ever World Cup loss and a record-breaking margin of defeat against opponents from the northern hemisphere. Australia drove for their first try and were rewarded with a spectacular 50:22 from their own 22. It began with a score from the first phase from Gareth Davies, following a break from new captain Jac Morgan.
Wales led 16–6 at halftime because of penalties from Gareth Anscombe, who stepped up to the plate when Dan Biggar was lost to injury early. Anscombe, who finished with 23 points, added another penalty, and Nick Tompkins converted a deft kick to virtually seal the victory. The team continued to pile on the points, with Anscombe scoring a drop goal before Morgan duly scored a try of his own via a rolling maul to set the tone for Warren Gatland and company.

“Rob is currently one of the most accomplished and seasoned Welsh instructors working on the international stage,” remarked Gatland. Following the announcement of contact area trainer Jonathan Thomas’s departure, he brings in fresh talent to his backroom staff. Rob’s dismissal from Welsh rugby cost us a lot of precious tactics, as well as expertise in the Welsh play and the international scene.”
“It is a real pleasure to have him return to this new role. All aspects of the competition, including our four local sides and their academies, will benefit from our ability to seamlessly integrate the U20s and route teams with our tactics and preparations for the national squad.”
“We are delighted that he will be returning to the faculty of coaches for Six Nations 2024 with the senior men’s team, and Welsh rugby is incredibly fortunate to have secured his services once more.”

On the way Success to International level
Howley competed for Wales in the A, B, U21, Schools, and Students levels. In 1996, he made his debut as a senior for Wales. Howley was picked for the 1997 British Lions tour to South Africa. It raised the possibility of a matchup with Joost van der Westhuizen of the Springboks.
However, in a match against Natal, before the test series began, Howley sustained a shoulder injury that ended his tour. Before he was injured, Howley traveled with the British & and Irish Lions to Australia in 2001 and participated in the first two test matches. He joined Wasps after retiring from rugby at the international level.
Career as a Trainer
After playing his last game, Howley was a coach at Cardiff RFC. He was appointed attack coach in 2008. He joined Warren Gatland’s Wales training group. The national team advanced to the 2011 and 2015 Rugby World Cup semi-finals and won four Six Nations positions, involving three Grand Slams, within the course of the following twelve years.

Under the guidance of head trainer Ian McGeechan, he served as attack coach for the British and Irish Lions during their 2009 tour of South Africa. Under head coach Warren Gatland, he kept this position during the 2013 tour of Australia. He assisted the Lions in winning their first series since 1997.
Wales caretaker Trainer
In April 2012, Warren Gatland broke two heels while on vacation in New Zealand. So Howley took over the day-to-day management of the coaching staff temporarily. Rob Howley served as interim coach for Wales. During their 2012 tour to Australia after Warren Gatland was injured. He was unable to lead the team. Gatland was selected to lead the British & Irish Lions for their Australian tour in 2013.
Thus, Rob Howley carried on with his caretaker job in the 2012 Autumn Internationals. But Howley would only lead Wales in the first two games against Argentina and Samoa; in weeks three and four. Gatland was not able to assist Wales in the 2013 Six Nations.

These included a series of drubbing in the 2012 Autumn internationals. A series of defeats in the initial round of the 2013 Six Nations versus Ireland. A 3-0 series loss against Australia on their 2012 trip. Wales now has a new record for the most home losses in a row after the last five losses.
Because of his responsibilities as head coach of the Lions. As a result, Howley filled in for him during the competition. Howley took a lot of flak for coaching Wales. In Howley’s first game in charge, Wales defeated the Barbarians 30–21. However, Wales lost eight straight games, six of which came under his direction.
In the 2013 Six Nations, Howley guided Wales to victory by defeating England 30-3 at the Millennium Stadium. A record winning margin. Wales earned four titles since the Six Nations in 2000. In addition, he helped the British & and Irish Lions throughout their 2017 Summer tour. He coached the team throughout the 2017 Six Nations Championship.
Suspension in 2019
Rob Howley was expelled in 2019. Due to the breaking of the regulations regarding sports betting while at Wales’ training camp for the Rugby World Cup in Japan. After being proven guilty of making 363 wagers on rugby union. It involves 1,163 matches overall. He was subsequently banned for 18 months, nine of which were suspended.

France, a perennial force in the Six Nations, enters the competition with expectations and ambitions. Led by a formidable squad and under the guidance of a skilled coaching staff, Les Bleus aims to assert their dominance and reclaim glory on home soil. The absence of key players like Antoine DuPont and Romain Ntamack might pose challenges, but it also provides an opportunity for emerging talents to shine and stake their claim in the lineup.
The Stade de France stands as the iconic backdrop for France’s campaign, a venue steeped in rugby history and renowned for its electrifying atmosphere. The fervent support of the home crowd is expected to serve as a driving force for the French team, adding an extra dimension of motivation and determination. However, the competition is fierce, with traditional powerhouses like England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, and Italy aiming to upset the status quo.
Each team brings its blend of experience, skill, and tactical prowess, setting the stage for enthralling clashes and unpredictable outcomes. The tournament is not merely about securing victories; it is a platform for highlighting the evolution of rugby tactics, the resilience of players, and the passion of fans. The France Six Nations Rugby 2024 will undoubtedly deliver gripping moments, stirring rivalries.
DuPont’s Six Nations Quest from World Cup Redemption to Stade de France Triumph
DuPont’s absence from the Six Nations stems from his pursuit of Six Nations Gold at the Stade de France Six Nations, where the Springboks ousted Les Blues in the World Cup quarterfinals last October. His aim for redemption in front of the home crowd contrasts with Hooper’s ambition to re-enter the global stage following his World Cup exclusion by Eddie Jones.

During a conversation with journalists at the HSBC SVNS Cape Town, World Rugby CEO Alan Gilpin expressed enthusiasm about renowned players like Hooper and DuPont seeking involvement in the circuit. Gilpin emphasized the allure of the Six Nations in attracting talent and fans to the sport. However, Gilpin cautioned both athletes about the challenge they will encounter in securing spots on their respective Six Nations squads.
Having missed the Dubai and Cape Town legs of the series, they have only six tournaments to acclimate to the code’s nuances and team dynamics. Gilpin acknowledged the high bar set for DuPont and Hooper to contend for places, especially considering France and Australia’s recent strong performances. Nonetheless, their presence promises excitement and heightened interest in the competition.
He particularly highlighted DuPont’s superstar status in France Six Nations and the significance of his potential participation in the home Six Nations for the sport. The upcoming Six[f1] Nations tournament is scheduled for January 26, 2024, in Perth. France vs Ireland on February 2 in the Six Nations will be played both teams focus on the Six Nations games.
Fabien Galthié, unlike his post-2019 World Cup restructuring initiative, will not undergo substantial changes in his squad for his second term. However, for the 2024 edition, Galthié will rely on a core group but without Antoine DuPont (committed to the French 7s team) and Romain Ntamack sidelined due to injury.
Redpath’s Rugby Legacy Evolving Pathways in Talent Development
Reflecting on Bryan Redpath’s journey in Scottish rugby, the pathway to developing rugby talent seemed straightforward – progressing from club success to international prominence. Players excelling at various tiers could ascend to don the national jersey, with selection and injury being the major curveballs in the process. This three-tiered structure was comprehensible for players and observers alike.

However, for Redpath’s sons, Cameron and Murray raised in England, their pathway through school, club academy, and senior rugby have followed a somewhat similar trajectory. The former World Rugby Player of the Year, Antoine DuPont, is opting out of the Six Nations and parts of the Top 14 season to concentrate on France’s pursuit of gold at the upcoming Paris Games, sidelining himself from the France Six Nations campaign.
In a parallel move, former Wallabies captain Michael Hooper is making a switch to another code. Meanwhile, Vikki Wall, a former Meath footballer, has joined the Ireland Women’s program, eyeing inclusion in their squad for the upcoming tournament. Notably, Singleton isn’t the sole Red Rose international poised to transition to Toulon. Reports from The Telegraph suggest Ludlum has finalized an agreement with the French team.
His potential departure raises concerns for head coach Steve Borthwick, given Ludlum’s valued versatility and reliability within the squad. Ludlum’s impact during the 2023 Six Nations campaign and his contributions across for Rugby World Cup games, notably against Argentina, underscores his significance. The 27-year-old’s proficiency across all back-row positions has made him a standout performer for the country.
The Rising Prop with Promise in Rugby’s Front Row
Having emerged through Northampton Saints’ academy, Ludlum has been a consistent presence in the XV in recent seasons. However, Toulon’s offer of increased financial incentives and a longer contract presents an enticing prospect. At just 23, Bell, a promising prop, possesses immense potential if injuries do not impede his progress.

Coaches commend his exceptional work ethic beyond scrummaging and ball-carrying, projecting him as a future front-row great. Although unlikely to assume South Africa’s fly-half role, Willems solidified his position as the national team’s successor to Willie le Roux at fullback during the France campaign. His promising performances hint at a prolonged tenure in the jersey.
These developments mark significant shifts across international rugby, impacting players’ trajectories and team dynamics ahead of the France Six Nations campaign. The illustrious career of the French icon as a fullback for France highlighted a dazzling array of skills, earning him Grand Slams in 1981 and 1987, along with 4 additional titles.
Following the conclusion of the Rugby World Cup, the sport has witnessed its top referee and leading Test points-scorer pushed to extreme measures to safeguard their mental well-being. Wayne Barnes retired amid a wave of “vile” abuse for his final decisions, while Owen Farrell, subjected to severe treatment from England fans in France, has opted to step away from international rugby for an unspecified duration.
These incidents shed light on the significant psychological toll experienced by those who reach the pinnacle of the sport. Henry Arundell, now part of France Six Nations Racing after London Irish faced financial turmoil, faces eligibility challenges for next year’s Six Nations. To feature in February’s tournament, Arundell must secure a hybrid contract with the RFU and another club, with a potential move to Bath emerging as a probable solution.
Arundell’s Navigating Club and Country Commitments for Six Nations
Arundell’s participation for England in the upcoming Six Nations hinges on his decision to potentially depart Racing 92 and secure a hybrid contract involving the Rugby Football Union and a different club, highlighting the complexities players face in navigating club and national team commitments, particularly relevant for the France Six Nations campaign.
France Six Nations Tickets
RFU CEO Bill Sweeney had initially indicated in October that, under ‘special circumstances’ following the dissolution of his former club London Irish, Arundell would likely be eligible to represent his country in the upcoming tournament starting in February. However, recent updates suggest that a hybrid contract would now be necessary for his participation.
The 21-year-old secured a one-year deal with Parisian club racing in July after London Irish faced administration a month prior. Arundell, with 10 caps and 7 tries since his senior England debut during the Australian tour in July 2022, contributed to this year’s World Cup squad, clinching the bronze medal. Present RFU regulations restrict national team selection to players based in England. Initially, there seemed to be an indication of potential dispensation for Arundell under exceptional circumstances.
Sweeney clarified during a media briefing in October, stating, that any players who were [abroad] due to their clubs folding and needing employment overseas because they could not secure contracts in England would be available for the 2024 Six Nations. He expressed hopes of facilitating Arundell’s return to England for the 2024-25 season in collaboration with the Premiership.
