Over the course of the three-day event, over 300 vehicles and motorcycles are scheduled to race. Hundreds more will be participating in celebrations of Meyers Manx and John Surtees, in addition to what promises to be an incredible D-Day observance. At the Goodwood Circuit in West Sussex, England, there is an annual motor racing event known as the Goodwood Revival.

Established in 1998 by Charles Gordon-Lennox, the Earl of March, it honours the heyday of motorsport from 1948 to 1966 when Goodwood was a well-known racing destination. Because both performers and spectators dress historically correctly, The Revival offers a unique immersive historical experience that evokes nostalgia. Ever since it has grown to be a much-loved event that draws aficionados from all over the world to the vintage racing and classic vehicle calendar.

The Sussex Trophy

The Sussex Trophy, which was held for world competition sportscars from 1955 to 1960, is the first race of the weekend. Nine-time Le Mans 24 Hours champion Tom Kristensen in a Cooper T38, 3 time Le Mans winner Andre Lotterer, Two Lister Knobblys driven by three-time BTCC champion Gordon Shedden and a Lister Costin driven by European Le Mans Championship LMP3 winner Alex Brundle are expected to be on the field.

The competition for the Goodwood Trophy is dominated by Alfa Romeos, ERAs, and Maseratis. Patrick Blakeney-Edwards will race in his Frazer Nash Fane Monoposto, driven by Rob Hall, who will be driving the impressive V16-powered BRM Type 15. Additionally, we will be welcoming one of the most loaded grids in the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy’s history. The most successful Isle of Man TT rider in history, Michael Dunlop, will be the main attraction, riding a Norton Manx.

TT competitors

TT competitors Michael Rutter, Davey Todd, John McGuinness, and James Hillier will accompany him. Carlos Checa, the 2011 WSBK champion, will also compete in Norton Manx racing. The world’s most renowned drivers will take to the track for Part 1 of the St. Mary’s Trophy presented by Motul, which begins with the Fordwater Trophy for production-based racing and GT vehicles from 1955 to 1960. The class will include a sleek lineup of Porsche 356s, Jaguar XK150s, Elva Couriers, and MGAs.”

 Jimmie Johnson, seven-time winner of the NASCAR Sprint Cup, will be racing a Ford Galaxy in any order. In addition, he will face off against the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA driven by five-time Le Mans winner Emanuele Pirro. The BMW 1800 TiSA driven by Red Bull Racing Team Principal Christian Horner. The Galaxie driven by reigning Festival of Speed Timed Shootout champion Romain Dumas, and several current and former touring car stars like  Andrew Jordan, Matt Neal, Tom Ingram, Andy Priaulx, Gordon Shedden, Jake Hill, Rob Huff, and Anthony Reid. In addition, Jochen Mass and current Formula E racer Jean-Eric Vergne will be competing in Giulia Sprint GTAs. Alex Brundle will be modifying a Mini Cooper S, while Abbie Eaton will be trying to get a Plymouth Barracuda under control.

Madgwick Cup

Then came another race for the Madgwick Cup, a sports car race amongst drivers from 1955 to 1960. Competitors included a grid of Lotus 11s, 17s, and 19s, Cooper T39s, Lola Mk1s, and several Elva, Kieft, and Porsche vehicles. When Alex Brundle returns to the Motor Circuit in a Lola T70 Spyder, the demonic beings of the Whitsun Trophy, presented by Sky, will undoubtedly make a lot of noise. Adrian Newey in his own Ford GT40 and Nick Padmore in an incredibly rare Hamill SR3 will be his rivals in the race.

Things only get better as Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy winner Tom Kristensen begins his track comeback. He’s driving a Ferrari 250 GT SWB. Famous drivers such as Darren Turner, Rob Huff, Gordon Shedden, and Rory Butcher will be competing in one of the most esteemed races of the Revival, and their Jaguar E-types will line the field. In an Aston Martin DB4GT, Dario Franchitti and Jimmie Johnson will be the perfect combination.

While Emanuele Pirro will climb into a Ferrari 250 GT SWB. While this is going on, James Cottingham in an AC Cobra will undoubtedly be fighting hard. When the 1950s grand prix racers return to the Motor Circuit for the Richmond & Gordon Trophies, the 500cc Formula 3 cars competing in the Earl of March Trophy will provide quite the contrast. Smaller cars from Cooper, Comet, Kieft, Flash, and Arnott will be competing.

RAC TT Celebration

Maserati 250Fs, Connaughts, and Ferrari 246 Dinos with front engines will compete against Cooper and Lotus, the pioneers of rear engines, on the grid. When the green flag drops for the RAC TT Celebration. We’ll get serious for a little while. The blue riband event of the Revival consistently attracts an incredible field, and this year is no exception. The following drivers will be competing:

Abbie Eaton will be driving alongside Duncan Pittaway in the formidable Cheetah. Dario Franchitti will drive a Cobra. Matt Neal will drive a Bizzarrini 5300GT. Emanuele Pirro will drive a Porsche 904 with a striking livery. Jimmie Johnson will drive a Cobra Le Mans Coupe; and Adrian Newey will compete once more in his own Jaguar E-type portable. The list continues, and it’s going to be excellent.

The Glover Trophy field is dominated by BRMs and Lotuses. But there are also some interesting race cars on it. Including a Gilby Type B1, a Ferrari 1512, a Brabham BT14, and a Derrington Francis. An annual feature of the Revival is the race for grand prix cars from 1961 to 1965. Its rekindles memories of Formula One at Goodwood Revival 2024.

The final race of the weekend is the Freddie March Memorial Trophy on Sunday night at Goodwood Revival. 1950s sportscars similar to those that competed in the renowned Goodwood Nine Hour races will be back in action. With Tiff Needell behind the wheel of a Jaguar C-type. There will be a stunning Ferrari 750 Monza in action, as well as Aston Martin DB3Ss.
