NFL Games 2025: Injury Concerns Mount as Jaguars Prepare for London Clash
Lloyd had three tackles in the first portion against Seattle before coming out in place of Miller, who had five stops. The Jaguars also revealed that tight end Quintin Morris was unavailable for the Rams clash with a groin injury. The Jags, down to two fit tight ends, quickly moved to sign six-year NFL veteran Jordan Akins to the practice squad and released tight end Qadir Ismail.

Neither Lloyd nor Morris will make the journey to London. Akins, a third-round draft selection from UCF by the Houston Texans in 2018. Spent five years with the Texans and one with Cleveland. He has caught 206 passes for 2,277 yards and 10 touchdowns, and appeared in two playoff games.
Akins, 33, played four years of professional baseball in the Texas Rangers system before playing at UCF from 2014-17. He participated in 41 games for the Knights, catching 81 passes for 1,149 yards and eight touchdowns.
The Jaguars lost starting tight end Brenton Strange to a hip injury against the Chiefs. He is on the four-week injured reserve list. Hunter Long and Johnny Mundt got most of the plays against Seattle.
The Jacksonville Jaguars won’t have much time to recover from the defeat to the Seattle Seahawks. They’ll travel to London to square off against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 7.

NFL 2025: Jaguars Catch a Break as Rams Star Puka Nacua Sidelined
The positive news is that they just got an update that may enable them to get back into the winning column. Following the Rams’ victory over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that Puka Nacua sustained an ankle strain. Adding that the All-Star receiver will miss the game against the Jaguars.
This is a huge break for Jacksonville when you consider that its defense has struggled to contain top receivers. Just last week, Jaxon Smith-Njigba had a spectacular eight catches for 1162 yards with a touchdown, while Cooper Kupp had two receptions for a score.

A fifth-round selection in 2023, Puka Nacua had a remarkable rookie season, catching 105 passes for 105 yards with six touchdowns. Injuries limited him to just 11 contests last year, but he still managed to reel in 79 receptions for 990 yards with three scores.
The former BYU Cougar bounced back strongly this season and recorded 54 receptions for 616 yards with two touchdowns in the past six games. The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without crucial defensive standout Devin Lloyd.
And tight end Quintin Morris for their Week 7 showdown in London against the Los Angeles Rams. Lloyd’s absence due to a calf strain ends his run of 19 straight starts and removes one of the NFL’s top turnover creators from the roster.
