Members of Great Britain’s Olympic bobsleigh squad have accused UK Sport of a fraudulent attempt to take some of the credit for last season’s incredible World Cup success.

Cackett, who has been confirmed in a team that also includes Nick Gleeson and Olympic debutant Taylor Lawrence, was behind a worded response on the team’s Instagram story, which criticized the report’s inaccuracies and stressed that his team was only responsible for the success of this season.
Bobsleigh Team Criticizes UK Sport for Misleading Statements
Cackett stated on Thursday, whether they were misquoted or it was deliberately misleading, we felt it was an unnecessary last-minute attempt to claim, ‘we’ve given this away when in fact the money came after we we could have done anything with it.
The money basically arrived very late and that was the disappointment because it could have used to help us. I believe UK Sport should revisit this situation and consider whether it can manage differently in the future.

The Roots of Bobsleigh A British Legacy
While Great Britain cannot claim to be the home of bobsleigh, it has a strong case for being the founder of the sport. The invention of the bobsleigh has attributed to a group of Englishmen on holiday in St Moritz in Switzerland in the late 1800s, while there are photographs from the early 1880s of boys at Harrow School hurtling down snowy slopes on toboggans strung together.
The first purpose-built race track open in 1902 just outside St Moritz, with that track many that followed featuring a straight run rather than the turns we are use to today.
