Powerplay: Each innings starts with a six-over powerplay with specific fielding restrictions.
Match Duration: Matches last three hours and 10 minutes, with each innings allocated one hour and 25 minutes, separated by a 20-minute interval.
Stop-Clock Rule: The bowling side must be ready to bowl each over within 60 seconds of the previous one finishing.
Reviews: Each side is allowed two unsuccessful reviews per innings.
Super Over: In case of a tie, a super over will determine the winner. If the super over also ties, additional super overs will be played until a winner is found.
Minimum Overs: In group phases, at least five overs per side are required for a result. This increases to 10 overs in the semi-finals and final.
DLS Method: The Duckworth Lewis Stern (DLS) method will be use for weather-affected matches.
Reserve Days: The first semi-final and final have a reserve day. The second semi-final has an additional 250 minutes allocated if required.

T20 World Cup: Indian Players to Depart for New York on May 25

Majority of Indian Squad Set to Fly out for T20 WC

The majority of the Indian cricket team, along with their extensive support staff, will be departing for New York on May 25 in preparation for the T20WorldCup. The remaining players will join them after the IPL final on May 26.

Change in Travel Plans for Indian Team

Initially, players from teams that did not qualify for the IPL play-offs were ready to leave for New York on May 21. Two days after the final IPL league game on May 19. However, there has been a change in plans, and now the first group will leave on May 25.

Key Players Departing on May 25

“Skipper Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel. And other players and support staff is about to leave on May 25,” a BCCI source anonymously told PTI.

Adjusted Departure for Better Preparation

The initial departure date for the first batch was May 21, but since India is playing only one warm-up game against Bangladesh on June 1, players will get a few extra days at home. “This will allow the players some additional time at home before heading to New York,” the source added.

Finalists to Join Later

Players involved in the IPL final will remain in India until May 27. Giving the entire squad enough time to adjust to the time difference and have three to four quality net sessions before their warm-up game against Bangladesh.

India will kick off their T20 World Cup campaign against Ireland on June 5 in New York. The precious match against Pakistan is scheduled for June 9.
