Arik Armstead, Roy Robertson-Harris, Josh Hines-Allen, Maason Smith, Travon Walker, Tyler Lacy, DaVon Hamilton, Trevis Gipson, Jordan Jefferson

With Hamilton’s (back) return to health, this is maybe the deepest position group. Walker, Hines-Allen, and Armstead who spent most of the camp on PUP give the Jaguars a strong set of pass rushers, but it’s unclear where the rest of the line will produce. The most outstanding defensive rookie thus far is Smith.

Cornerback (5):

Tyson Campbell, De’Antre Prince, Jarrian Jones, Christian Braswell, Ronald Darby

Just before camp, Campbell inked a four-year, $76.5 million contract extension. He was a standout player in 2022 but had a disappointing 2023 due to a hamstring injury. With Nielsen’s defence requiring a lot of man coverage, Campbell and Darby will have a lot of pressure to perform well, especially since Braswell has been one of the defence’s strongest players.

Safties (5):

Andre Cisco, Terrell Edmunds, Darnell Savage, Antonio Johnson

Similar to their wage cap, their $150 million quarterback ended well but mostly against weak opponents, leaving him little leeway before pressure mounts on his position.

Jacksonville Jaguars (9-8)

The Jaguars were another club to falter; they dropped five of their final six games, giving Houston the division title and missing the playoffs entirely. To make sure that doesn’t happen again, the focus has been on strengthening defense.
