Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has led the team to three Super Bowl victories in the last five years, making them the lone constant in recent years. Three straight Super Bowl victories are unheard of, and the Chiefs’ opponents are preparing to confront them. Several aspirational teams led by outstanding young quarterbacks are joining the fray to challenge the Chiefs.

Here’s a quick look at each of the 32 NFL teams, along with their odds of winning the championship this year, arranged according to their regular-season performance from 2023.

Kansas City Chiefs (11-6)

Merely two overtime losses have kept the NFL’s newest dynasty from making it to the final six straight Super Bowls, of which they have participated in three and won three. Their continued dominance stems from head coach Andy Reid’s ability to flawlessly balance the rest of the team and help quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
A new wave of supporters in Wales could follow them if Louis Rees-Zammit secures a roster slot, in addition to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift keeping them in the news off the field.

San Francisco 49ers (12-5)

This is the 49ers’ second Super Bowl loss in four years, and they still have one of the most talented and balanced teams in the NFL despite blowing a 10-point lead against the Chiefs. But, their “window” for success may be closing quickly due to contract issues.

Detroit Lions (12-5)

They are now legitimate challengers after spending decades in the wilderness. lost a 17-point lead in the NFC championship game, but head coach Dan Campbell’s comeback has them aiming for their first Super Bowl participation.

Buffalo Bills (11-6)

They are still among the greatest teams in the league, but their ability to advance is limited by their three straight play-off losses to the Chiefs. This is especially true given that Josh Allen will be without his two best receivers and that their division will be much more competitive in 2024.

Baltimore Ravens (13-4)

An agonizing home loss to the Chiefs kept the team that was by far the best of the regular season from earning a Super Bowl spot. They tried to go one better with their MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson and their formidable running back Derrick Henry.

Miami Dolphins (11-6)

Their season fizzled out after a scorching start, and they lost a chilly play-off game against Kansas City, prolonging their wait for their first postseason triumph since 2000. They will win a lot of games, but the results are still inconclusive because only one of their 11 wins came against a team with a winning record.

Keep eye on: Tyreek Hill
Ever confident, speedy receiver Hill says he could defeat Olympic 100-meter winner Noah Lyles in a race. He can really score from anyplace.

Houston Texans (10-7)

Last season, this fascinating team featured the best rookies on the offensive and defensive lines, in CJ Stroud and Will Anderson, who led them to an exciting play-off run. It’s a wise decision to add Stefon Diggs, a talented receiver, to help Stroud avoid the infamous “sophomore slump.” Now they’ll be entertaining to watch.

Green Bay Packers (9-8)

The NFL’s youngest team went 6-2 to qualify for the playoffs, defeated Dallas, and then narrowly lost in San Francisco, giving quarterback Jordan Love a lucrative new contract and head trainer Matt LaFleur some much-needed recognition. They will also get better this year.

Dallas Cowboys (12-5)

Only five post-season games have been won by Dallas since their last Super Bowl victory in 1996, despite them being the NFL’s top scorers and having completed a third straight 12-win season. Although quarterback Dak Prescott and head coach Mike McCarthy’s team is in the bottom half of the standings this year, they still have a talented squad.

NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets | NFL Tickets

Keep an eye on: Micah Parsons
Parsons is a freak athlete with exceptional football talent; few defensive players can run games. He impacts games from wherever he lines up.

Cleveland Browns (11-6)

With five different quarterbacks starting for a team beset by injuries a feat not seen in 40 years Cleveland advanced to the postseason thanks to a dominant defense captained by Myles Garrett. They’ll have top-notch defense once more; all they need is more from quarterback Deshaun Watson to be a real contender.

Player to watch: Deshaun Watson

Watson received a $230 million fully guaranteed contract from Cleveland in 2022, but he has only appeared in 12 games and has only displayed glimpses of his potential. This year, that needs to change.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-8)

Following four consecutive post-season appearances, they should arguably be given a little more respect than they currently receive in most rankings after crushing the Eagles and matching the Lions for three quarters before edging into the play-offs by winning a dreadful division.

Los Angeles Rams (10-7)

While losing to Detroit by one point in the play-offs was difficult, losing Aaron Donald possibly the best defense in NFL history to retirement will be far more difficult. Matthew Stafford should not be written out since he still has a lot of football left in him and they did win everything a few years ago.

Player to watch: Puka Nacua

If healthy, he should break rookie receiving records again this year after setting a record-setting 181-yard performance in the playoffs.

New York Jets (7-10)

If anything, the anticipation is more than it was the previous season following Aaron Rodgers’ injury four plays into the game. With one final chance for the 40-year-old quarterback, there is no longer any margin for error. With a strong defense and a plethora of skill surrounding him, the stage is set for a Super Bowl run.

Keep an eye on: Aaron Rodgers
And anybody else? The Jets have assembled a fantastic team, but Rodgers must perform at a high level for the entire campaign for the team to succeed.

Pittsburgh Steelers (10-7)

Although new quarterbacks Justin Fields and Russell Wilson are not a major improvement over the team from last year, head coach Mike Tomlin managed to keep his record of never having a losing season. This season, they will play like a traditional Pittsburgh club, with a strong defense and a potent offense.

Player to watch: TJ Watt

TJ Watt, who became the first player in the NFL to lead in official sacks for three consecutive seasons, is a significant contributor to any success for Pittsburgh and causes absolute havoc.

Philadelphia Eagles (11-6)

After a 10-1 start, the Eagles faltered, dropping five of their final six games before being humiliated by the Bucs in the playoffs, leaving head coach Nick Sirianni hanging on. We should anticipate a comeback from this team, which is still incredibly talented. That was a major surprise.

Keep an eye on:  Saquon Barkley

Divisional opponents New York made an intriguing move, and the star running back will be itching to make an impression. You may also read: News about NFL Defences Going to Play in NFL London 2024

Cincinnati Bengals (9-8)

In two seasons that he finished, Joe Burrow made it to one Super Bowl and nearly made it to another, so the Bengals are competitive when he plays a full season. The Bengals failed to make the playoffs the previous season due to his seven-game suspension.

Keep an eye on: Joe Burrow

His talent is only surpassed by his enormous confidence and swagger, but the wrist issue will be a major concern.

Indianapolis Colts (9-8)

Though he was impressive at times as a rushing threat in his four games as a rookie quarterback last season, the big question limiting expectations is whether or not Anthony Richardson can remain healthy for the entire campaign.

Keep an eye on: Jonathan Taylor

Despite injuries and contract disputes throughout the last two seasons, the 2021 running champion appears poised to make a return this season.

New Orleans Saints (9-8)

With one of the oldest teams in the league and limited flexibility over the summer owing to salary cap concerns, the Saints were a true puzzle team that finished with a +75 point difference but was unable to win the tight games.

Player to watch: Derek Carr

Similar to their wage cap, their $150 million quarterback ended well but mostly against weak opponents, leaving him little leeway before pressure mounts on his position.

Jacksonville Jaguars (9-8)

The Jaguars were another club to falter; they dropped five of their final six games, giving Houston the division title and missing the playoffs entirely. To make sure that doesn’t happen again, the focus has been on strengthening defense.

Player to watch: Trevor Lawrence

The Jaguars gave their top overall draft pick a large new contract this summer, but he has to earn it. He has been reliable but unspectacular in his first three seasons.

Seattle Seahawks (9-8)

Although Seattle’s new head coach, Mike Macdonald, is 37 years old, and he assembled a formidable defense against Baltimore, the team appears to be rebuilding after losing 72-year-old Pete Carroll.

Keep an eye on: DK Metcalf
To assist quarterback Geno Smith improve his play once more, their enormous receiver needs to put on more commanding performances.

Denver Broncos (8-9)

Coach Sean Payton saw success with eight wins, but as they continue to battle to make up for the Russell Wilson experiment gone awry, it seems to be the ceiling once more. The defense was a major problem the previous season, and it’s unclear where they’ll get better.

Keep an eye on: Bo Nix

first-round selection in the draft Following Peyton Manning’s departure in 2016, Bo Nix has been named Denver’s thirteenth starting quarterback. Payton and he ought to get along well, but don’t hold yourself too high.

Las Vegas Raiders (8-9)

The Raiders are trying to find their way, and young head coach Antonio Pierce is concentrating on defense. With Gardner Minshew at quarterback, who is entertaining, the team should produce some highlights in what looks to be another difficult season in Vegas.

Player to watch: Davante Adams

If Minshew can get him the ball, this true superstar receiver can still create magic.

Chicago Bears (7-10)

Chicago, another team riding the hype wave, has stacked its offensive line with top choice Caleb Williams in hopes of bringing the Bears’ 14-year playoff drought to an end. In Chicago, supporters find it difficult to control themselves.

Keep an eye on: Caleb Williams

Although he might not be the dominant quarterback right away, he possesses the skill, flair, and character to be Chicago’s first true star.

Which Jacksonville Jaguars, fresh off a significant preseason victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, are emerging? Be Ready

Mac Jones:

Mac Jones, in a sense, emerged from Saturday smelling like roses. Although Jones had one terrible sack and failed to throw a third-down pass to an open Elijah Cooks, it wasn’t a perfect game. However, he led three scoring drives, showed strong offensive management, and effectively claimed the backup position with his effective play. One well-known NFL quarterback is Mac Jones.

Jones demonstrated his accurate passing and leadership abilities as he guided the Crimson Tide to a national title in the 2020 season under head coach Nick Saban. After being selected in the 2021 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots, Jones immediately established himself as a rising star in the league thanks to his poise and football IQ, which earned him the starting quarterback position.

Cam Little:

Rookie kicker Cam Little has hit five of six field goals throughout training camp, adding two more on Saturday. Only one kick, a 62-yard field goal last week, which he had plenty of legs left for, has he missed. Since Josh Lambo joined the Jaguars in 2019, Little has been the easiest kicker to work with. He’s also had the best preseason and training camp of any kicker.

He is a well-known placekicker in football, particularly with the Arkansas Razorbacks. Little, who was well regarded for his accuracy and reliability, made significant contributions because of his outstanding field goal percentages and clutch plays in pressure-filled circumstances. Because of his capacity to perform effectively under pressure and contribute meaningful points, he is thought to be one of the sport’s best players in his position.

Parker Washington:

Parker Washington has gained more reps during the past week and this week due to Christian Kirk’s injury. Early in the game, Washington was Jones’ most frequently targeted pass-catcher. He also caught a 25-yard touchdown throw on third-and-17, which was good for the Jaguars’ first point of the game and his second huge play of the preseason. Breeland Speaks:

After two preseason games, Speaks recorded his second sack of the season on Saturday and has been a reliable force for the Jaguars. The Jaguars’ depth makes it difficult for him to get the active roster, but Doug Pederson has taken a liking to him.

“Yes, it is difficult. Guys showing up in the middle of camp is hard. However, he’s done a good job merely picking up the vocabulary and the defence. Pederson stated on Monday that he is receiving beneficial game reps. All we have to do is monitor how he does during individual workouts and any team workouts he participates in during the week.”

“However, with this final game, it appears that the second half may have been played, so let’s make the most of those repetitions. With a guy like that, who is probably 53, it’s probably going to be difficult as you continue. However, the practice squad is still a possibility. For it is what many of these guys are vying for. They continue to vie for those positions.”

Stock Down

Elijah Cooks:

Though it’s unclear if the Jaguars will start six or seven receivers, Elijah Cooks hurt his cause on Saturday by misfiring on one of Mac Jones’ best passes. In terms of receiving positions, Jones does not have an advantage over Parker Washington and Devin Duvernay, who are ranked fourth and fifth, respectively. Elijah Cooks, who stands out for his size and quickness.

He excelled at Nevada and became a valuable target because of his ability to make contested catches and his effectiveness in the red zone. For his final season in 2022, Cooks transferred to San Jose State, where he maintained his impressive play and led the team in touchdowns and receiving yards. With an undrafted free agent status after his performance, he has an opportunity to join the NFL and try to carry over his collegiate success into the pros.

Javon Foster:

Although it wasn’t the cleanest night, the offensive tackle selected in the fourth round played the most snaps (62). Pro Football Focus reports that Foster allowed three pressure yards on a couple of plays that had Jones and C.J. Beathard run for their lives. Though it wasn’t the cleanest outing he will have, Foster used Saturday to get some tape up for the coaching staff as he won’t be starting this year.

“What’s interesting is that he continues getting better and better. As the game went on, I believe that some weariness took over and I became a little bit tired near the end,” Pederson stated on Monday. To be honest, he is carefree and doesn’t make many mistakes. If so, it could just be an occasional slip of the mind. However, he’s getting better and making some progress. He and many other people had a lot of repetitions in this last game, but I felt he handled it well.”

Javon Foster is an exceptional offensive lineman who left a lasting impression. Foster was a talented and adaptable lineman who was well-known for his potent blocking and protection abilities, which significantly aided the team’s offensive performance. His on-field exploits demonstrated his potential to be a vital pass-rush defender and a strong running back, solidifying his standing as one of college football’s best linemen.

C.J. Beathard:

C.J. Beathard had a difficult evening. Though he only gained 40 yards, he completed 5 of 7 throws. In addition, Jones was sacked three times and left the game due to a groin injury. Shortly after, Jones found Brevin Easton for a touchdown pass. Beathard is probably going to make the practice squad if Saturday night was supposed to decide who would be the starting quarterback. The San Francisco 49ers selected C.J.

Beathard in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, which marked the start of his NFL career. He was renowned for his leadership and aggressiveness.

Beathard filled in for starting quarterback Colin Kaepernick throughout the 2017 and 2018 seasons due to injury while with the 49ers. Resilient by nature, Beathard’s greatest contributions to the squad occurred when things were tough. He joined the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021 and proceeded to play a steady backup quarterback position.

Spotlight on the Atlanta Falcons NFL London Season

After last season’s NFL London ended, the Atlanta Falcons had a challenging route to become this year’s overwhelming favourites to win the competition: Signing Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins to a four-year, $180 million contract was the Falcons’ largest free agency signing.

• The Falcons surprised everyone on draft night in April by selecting Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. with the No. 8 pick, seemingly forgetting they had done so.

• With the trade of Patriots pass rusher Matt Judon and the unusual August signing of former Denver safety Justin Simmons, Atlanta’s general management has already made amends in the last 48 hours.

Nothing like studying the night before a test, but it looks like the Falcons made the proper decisions to put them ahead of the competition in the division. Despite three years of Arthur Smith’s 7-10 hijinks, the Falcons should be content to make it back to the postseason for the first time since 2017. According to sportsbooks, the team has the 13th-best chance to win Super Bowl LIX (+2600).

For a team that is the NFC version of the San Diego Chargers, will it all come together? Looking back, we discuss the Smith era’s conclusion, the major offseason adjustments, the Falcons’ best 2024 wagers, and the argument for taking the NFC South. NFL London 2023 review: 7-10 Is Arthur Smith’s Skill

We don’t want to dwell too long on a forgettable 7–10 season from a team that, following its conclusion, traded its second-year quarterback and dismissed its coach. The Falcons were predicted to perform well last year due to their comparatively easy schedule, much like the Saints. With only two 10-win teams Houston and Detroit and opponents who won a league-low 42.9% of their games, Atlanta had the easiest schedule.

However, aside from their 2-0 start following Ridder’s impressive comeback victory over the Packers, the Falcons failed to exhibit the characteristics of a successful team in 2023. Before the November bye week, the Atlanta defence made a statement with an awful three-game run, while the offence managed only 13 points combined in defeats to the Lions and Jaguars. They were also unable to defeat the Commanders at home.

The Falcons struggled to regain the division battle with a 6-6 record, losing to the Buccaneers in Week 15 and losing to the Panthers in Week 17. The season ended with a 7-10 record, with Smith and Ridder struggling due to turnovers and lack of development. Taylor Heinicke started the Colts game.

Atlanta Falcons: A View on the Offseason

The Falcons underwent more significant offseason modifications than most clubs. We have a new quarterback and, a new coaching staff (though Morris is a familiar face). We’re happy we held off on running Atlanta until mid-August since we also have a new pass rusher to discuss.

Raheem Morris Gets Another Shot

Raheem Morris was selected by the Falcons to be their new head coach. An audacious choice given his less than stellar term as the Buccaneers’ coach from 2009 to 2011. Morris is a coach that can deal with both defense and offense. Prior to joining Atlanta’s staff in 2015, he was the associate head coach and coordinator of the defensive passing game. He joined the Rams in 2021 as Sean McVay’s defensive coordinator, and together they won the Super Bowl.

It is recognized because Morris is such a versatile top assistant because some of the best coaches are inexperienced rookies. We’re not in love with Morris’s acquisition. Particularly because Belichick was an option, but we’re prepared to allow him to succeed here with a solid quarterback in a poor division.

NFL London Tickets | NFL Tickets
NFL London Tickets | NFL Tickets

In addition, Morris hired Rams wide receiver Zac Robinson to serve as his offensive coordinator in Atlanta. Robinson had been employed by McVay since 2019, spending the previous two years in the positions of quarterbacks coach and coordinator of the passing game. Robinson’s similar McVay experience to that of Kevin O’Connell. He was hired as the Minnesota coach in 2022, might facilitate Cousins’ adjustment to a new offensive scheme.

In addition, Morris brought in former Washington Huskies coach Jimmy Lake to serve as his defensive coordinator in Atlanta. As a defensive assistant with the Rams last year, Lake previously worked with him in Tampa Bay. In Atlanta’s first year, Morris has his guys to support him.

Captain Kirk’s Third Side

In 2021, after spending 12 years with the Lions and never winning a postseason game, Matthew Stafford practically accomplished it when he signed with the Rams and won a Super Bowl. However, that also clarified a lot about how those franchises differed.

After spending 2017 missing the playoffs, Atlanta has been in 7-10 purgatory. Cousins is joining this team. Although he is a quarterback, he is arguably not quite as good as Stafford. While age and injuries can throw off our expectations, it seems like we know what to anticipate from Cousins.

NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets | NFL Tickets
NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets | NFL Tickets

Despite tearing his Achilles tendon last season, Cousins, who is 36, is one of the NFL’s most immobile pocket quarterbacks. So his performance shouldn’t be impacted. He tied a record by leading the Vikings to a 13-4 victory with eight fourth-quarter comeback victories. Cousins’ running game only produced one rushing touchdown despite his injury. He has been trying to “Staffordication” with Morris and Robinson in Atlanta and O’Connell in Minnesota.

The Defence Adds A Few Late Strengthening

Instead of selecting a defensive player, the Atlanta Falcons selected Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. with the eighth overall pick in the class of quarterbacks, selecting edge rusher Dallas Turner from Alabama. In August, the Falcons strengthened their defensive line by trading edge rusher Matt Judon who recorded 15.5 sacks in 2022 and 12.5 the year before to the Patriots for a third-round pick.

NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets | NFL Tickets
NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets | NFL Tickets

The Falcons have signed Justin Simmons, a Denver safety, to their team, along with Jessie Bates and A.J. Terrell. The team faces rumors about Penix’s replacement following poor performance by Ryan Cousins. With wide receiver Drake London, tight end Kyle Pitts, and running back Bijan Robinson, the Falcons have a strong lineup.

They have no opponent who can win any of the seven games. It might only happen if the Falcons win and have a 9-8 record. The Falcons may make it to the postseason if they can win their early games and don’t bench Cousins in favour of Penix.

Best Bets for the NFL 2024 Falcons

The Saints are still formidable, but the Falcons’ chances are bleak because of Rondale Moore’s loss and injury. The Falcons may be able to get back on track with the October schedule, perhaps finishing 10-7. We want Odunze as a dominant receiver and Judon on defence. For the first time since 2016, the Falcons should aim for over 9.5 victories and the NFC South title.

The NFL London top defensive players under the age of 25. A young talent is a must for winning Super Bowls. Using a 4-2-5 style with a slot corner, we will unveil our NFL Offensive All-Under-25 1st and 2nd Teams below. The sole requirement is that these players have to be under 25 when the 2024 NFL season begins, which is the first full week of September. We can talk about a lot of famous people here, so let’s get started.

First Team

Following is the 1st squad mentioned below:

NFL London EDGE: Aidan Hutchinson 24

The Michigan native, who attended Michigan for his college football career and is currently playing for the Detroit Lions, has established himself as a star in the NFL. In 2023, he added 51 combined tackles, 11.5 sacks, 33 quarterback hits, seven passes defended, three forced fumbles, and an interception to his stellar rookie campaign. In addition, Hutchinson registered 101 pressures, second only to the legendary Micah Parsons in the NFL London.

NFL London EDGE: Will Anderson Jr. 22

With just 15 games played, the No. 3 overall choice made an immediate impact with 45 overall tackles, seven sacks, and 22 quarterback hits, earning him the title of Anderson Defensive Rookie of the Year. Among all rookies over the earlier five seasons, he achieved the 3rd top total with 59 pressures. In their rookie NFL seasons, only Parsons and Nick Bosa earned more points. With a pass-rush victory percentage of 26%, Anderson ranked third among edge defenders.

NFL London DT: Jalen Carter (23)

This list also includes another outstanding rookie, Carter, who in 2023 totalled 33 total tackles, 6 sacks, 8 tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles. He was in the top -5 among the entire rookie class last season with regard to of challenges, tackles for reduction, and sacks!

NFL London DT: Alim McNeill (24)

In just 13 games in 2023, McNeill still one of the league’s most underappreciated players tallied 32 combined tackles, 10 quarterback hits, and a career-high 5 sacks for the Lions. He is such a destructive player in the centre, and since he is in a contract year, he should be able to cash in shortly.

NFL London LB: Nick Bolton (24)

Due to injuries, Bolton missed nine games in the previous season. Nevertheless, in the eight games he did play in, he finished with 60 total tackles, three passes defended, and one interception. Bolton is without a doubt among the top linebackers in the league when healthy. He concluded 2022 with 180 total passes, 2 sacks, and 3 passes intercepted in addition to two interceptions. Be cautious this season, since he is on his contract year.

NFL London LB: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (24)

The Expert Bowl year that JOK and the Cleveland Browns were eagerly waiting for finally arrived under defensive assistant Jim Schwartz. In 2024, he should advance even further. 20 stops for loss, 3.5 sacks, 5 quarterback strikes, 6 passes deflected, and Owusu-Koramoah’s 1st two career turnovers were recorded in 2023.

In total, he scored 101 tackles. He leads the Browns with 101 total tackles, including 20 tackles for loss. Since the illustrious Luke Kuechly in 2018, his 101 takedowns were the most by an opponent to record 20+ tackles for loss in a season.

NFL London CB: Sauce Gardner (23)

Because he has given up the fewest yards per target (4.6) in the last two seasons, Sauce was voted the greatest cornerback in the NFL London by Sports media going into 2024. Said to be the first cornerback to be chosen a First Team All-Pro in each of his first two seasons since Dick Harris in 1961, the 2022 Defensive Rookie of the Year is just the eighth cornerback in the previous fifty years to make it to the Pro Bowl in both of his first two seasons.

NFL London CB: Patrick Surtain II (24)

The former Alabama athlete, who was chosen with the 9th as a whole choice. He has made appearances in the Pro Bowl the past couple of seasons and was chosen for the 2022 First Team All-Pro. Despite only recording one interception in the previous year, Surtain made history by becoming the only player in the history of the Denver Broncos to record 10 or more passes intercepted in each of his first 3 NFL London campaigns since the statistic was first recorded in 1991.

NFL London CB: Trent McDuffie (23)

With 80 total tackles, three sacks, 7 passes defended, and a career-high five forced fumbles. McDuffie proved to be one of the NFL’s top cornerbacks last season, earning a spot on the First Team All-Pro team. When McDuffie got kicked off the edge by defensive backs coach Steve Spagnuolo. Quarterbacks finished 46% of throws for zero touchdowns and two interceptions. He also had the most QB tackles by a cornerback since the metric was first monitored in 2006, with nine.

NFL London S: Kyle Hamilton (23)

Because he is capable of playing everywhere, Hamilton is perhaps the best safety in the whole NFL London. That makes the former Notre Dame player selected as the No. 14 overall choice one of the most distinctive athletes in the modern game. After producing 81 overall tackles, three sacks, 13 passes defended, and four interceptions in 15 games during his second NFL season. Hamilton was named to the Pro Bowl and All-Pro team for the first time.

The fact that all three of his sacks occurred in the first half of the Week 3 game against the Indianapolis Colts is my favorite stat.

NFL London S: Jevon Holland (24)

On Sports media ranking of the best safeties going into NFL 2024, Holland ranked No. 5. Over the course of the season, he recorded a career-high 3 forced fumbles, four passes supported, one interception, and 74 total tackles in 12 games. Before halftime, in the last Black Friday triumph over the New York Jets, that one interception resulted in a 99-yard pick six.

NFL London: Second Team

Following is the 2nd squad mentioned below:

EDGE: Greg Rousseau (Bills)

S: Talanoa Hufanga (49ers)

LB: Ivan Pace Jr. (Vikings)

NFL 2024: News of Jacksonville Jaguars Season’s Plans, and Stats

The previous season’s amazing beginning was eclipsed by a terrible conclusion, and the outcomes in NFL 2024 will probably reflect the latter. Don’t miss out on the electrifying action of NFL London 2024. During the first three months of 2023, the Jacksonville Jaguars appeared poised to challenge the AFC elite, but December utterly destroyed an 8-3 straight up and over the spread record in the first 11 games.

The Jags can either allow that late-season meltdown to set the tone for 2024, or they can use their 1-5 faceplant after 2023 as inspiration for this coming season.

With 8.5 wins overall and points allowed in just nine games, Jacksonville isn’t expected to contend for 2nd place in the AFC South as they did the previous season. Along with a few contenders strewn throughout, the schedule is also significantly tougher than it was the previous season, including division rivals like Houston and Indianapolis on the rise.

Do the Jaguars supporters have another rough season ahead of them, or can Doug Pederson turn lemons into lemonade? For the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2024, these are my top NFL picks.

Jacksonville Jaguars odds

1 Win Super Bowl      +5,000

2 Win conference      +2,500

3 Win division            +275

4 Make playoffs          +130

5 Over 8.5 wins          -110

6 Under 8.5 wins        -110

Best futures bet: No playoffs (-155)

Based on a brief analysis of the schedule compared to future projections and the win total, the Jacksonville Jaguars are projected to finish with nine victories in 2024. That puts them below other AFC peripheral teams like Cleveland, Miami, Buffalo, New York Jets, and Chargers in the conference standings, but it may put them in second place in the AFC South.

The Jaguars have one of the hardest schedules in the NFL, and the fact that they will be playing in the United Kingdom adds to the intimidating nature of the slate evening. It’s not a good thing that Jacksonville may continue where it left off because there are just two real home games left in the first seven weeks of the season. Jacksonville Jaguars Overview

Jacksonville’s desperation will reveal how active this squad is going to be on both sides of the ball in 2024. Using his receivers’ quickness downfield, Trevor Lawrence must produce huge plays for the offence. The defence is attempting to increase its pressure and produce more game-changing plays under new coach Ryan Nielsen. These ideas have a high reward/high-risk ratio.

What wagers will be succeeded?

Injuries hindered Lawrence’s 2023 attempts, which resulted in a slew of mistakes as the squad faltered to the finish line. With the acquisition of wideouts Gabe Davis and youngster Brian Thomas Jr., both of whom can hit home runs, he still has an excellent passing game when healthy.

NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets | NFL Tickets
NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets | NFL Tickets

Travis Etienne’s versatility as a running back will keep defenders guessing, and the offensive line’s steadiness will aid in run blocking. After throwing too many points away in 2023, Etienne, slot receiver Christian Kirk, and tight end Evan Engram will be expected to increase Jacksonville’s productivity in the red zone.

What is going to lose wagers?

Ryan Nielsen was brought in as the new coordinator, and Jacksonville made significant changes to the stop unit. With more press coverage of receivers and increased pass pressure, he plans to employ a variety of fronts and intensify the game. Although everything appears promising on paper, there will be a learning curve, particularly with the roster replacements.

The early scoring assaults in the schedule make it difficult to alleviate those growing pains. Before taking a bye in Week 12, Nielsen’s defence takes on teams from Miami, Buffalo, Houston, Chicago, Green Bay, Philadelphia, and Detroit. If JAX is reckless in applying pressure, it could be vulnerable to the big play.

Jacksonville Jaguars game schedule and odds

Let’s put the opponents on the Jags’ early-season schedule aside for a moment. This team’s schedule, which calls for just two genuine home games throughout the first seven weeks of 2024, is already working contrary to them. Before the yearly journey over the pond to play in Weeks 6 and 7, three of the first five go on the road.

All right, let’s examine Jacksonville’s opponent now. Apart from tight games against Houston and Indianapolis in the AFC South, the Jaguar’s schedule is full of postseason contenders. Additionally, a lot of those more difficult matches are away from home.

Given the competitiveness and the erratic attitude the Jags are adopting on both offence and defence, I’m sensing flashes of Overs with this squad. Lawrence and the offensive line will need to show their mettle if the stop unit is sacrificed for huge plays. Out of the 17 look-ahead totals, five are higher than 47 points, with four of those higher totals coming in the first six games.

Place a Bet: Week 4 at Houston (+3.5, 47.5)

When this AFC South matchup concludes, we will know the Jaguars’ standing in the AFC. In addition to travelling on the road for three of the first four weeks. Including this trip to Houston, Jacksonville is also playing on a short turnaround after facing Buffalo on Monday Night Football in Week 3. The Texans have the Jaguars’ number, whether for good or ill. Since 2014, Jacksonville’s record against Houston is dismal 4-16 SU and 8-12 ATS.

Best prop: Over 22.5 touchdown passes (+115)

During that late-season collapse, the Jaguars struggled mightily in the red zone; of Trevor Lawrence’s 21 touchdown passes. Just 12 were completed within the 20-yard line. As we approach 2024, preventing those lost opportunities is our primary goal. Part of Lawrence’s failure can be attributed to injuries, but if he stays healthy. There’s a decent chance the $275 million player for the Jaguars will provide a danger to this 22.5 touchdown total.

He may play to his strengths by stretching the field more, and he may find himself in several shootouts against top offensive opponents. A modest 23 to 24 goal strikes are projected by players for T-Law’s touchdown total. I believe that if Lawrence stays away from those turnovers that kill drives and find his red-zone rhythm. The ceiling might be higher.

Jacksonville Jaguars trend

The Jaguars will travel to London for two of their games for the second consecutive season. Shahid Khan, the team’s owner, is committed to growing the sport globally and elevating his side to the top of the UK football scene.

Jacksonville is accustomed to travelling, but that hasn’t helped them in terms of winning or ATS performance; since 2018. They have gone 3-3 SU and ATS in games played in the UK. But with the Jags overseas, a total trend is beginning to emerge. Those games have produced an overall average of 37.8 points, as opposed to an overall O/U sum of 45 points.

NFL London 2024: The Texans vs Bears Incredible Play

Usually, starting players don’t compete in the Pro Football Game, just like the rest of the preseason. Furthermore, a lot of second-string players sit out this game. Even though the game was cancelled during rain due to bad weather, the Chicago Bears defeated the Houston Texans 21-17 in the last incredible play. Though it didn’t exactly have a ton of draftable players, it did have some good players who might be able to earn valuable playing time as deep sleepers in fantasy football.

That means that a few players who saw a lot of playing time (and/or performed well) in the Houston Texans vs. Chicago Bears preseason game might not be selected here, including wide receiver Collin Johnson, who got two touchdowns in the contest, Bears signal-caller Brett Rypien, and quarterbacks Davis Mills and Case Keenum of Houston. However, in theory, some others might be given a chance in the future. Four possible fantasy sleepers who saw action on Thursday are shown below.

Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert

Khalil Herbert appeared to be headed for a breakthrough season at one point in time. In a 31-28 loss to the Denver Broncos on October 1, 2023, Herbert accumulated 122 total yards and a touchdown. After that, he had 76 rushing yards on 10 carries to start a 40-20 victory over the Washington Commanders.
However, Herbert sprained his ankle trying to catch a ball versus Washington, which caused him to miss a month and a half of play.

NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets | NFL Tickets | Chicago Bears Tickets
NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets | NFL Tickets | Chicago Bears Tickets

After making his comeback, Herbert’s play was patchy. However, he showed off his skills over two weeks in late December, racking up 236 yards on the ground and two touchdowns in two wins over the Atlanta Falcons and Arizona Cardinals. The Bears’ best running back entering the season is D’Andre Swift, an offseason signing, but it’s reasonable to question if Herbert will ever get another opportunity.

Despite only having six double-digit carries in the previous season, he recorded three 100-yard performances. In the end, it’s difficult to ignore such output.
With just four carries for 35 rushing yards, Herbert performed admirably in this one. You can also read: Holdout & Hold-in News about the Training camp of NFL 2024

Houston Texans RB Cam Akers

After finishing the 2022 NFL London season with 408 yards and 3 touchdowns in three contests for the Los Angeles Rams, Cam Akers was viewed as a potential breakout fantasy star heading into the next season. But the previous season was a total nightmare, as Akers was traded by the Rams to the Minnesota Vikings, where he never played a lot of football before sustaining his second career Achilles tear.

Akers is now trying to return to the NFL. He still has a long way to go.
Joe Mixon is the starting running back for the Texans in Houston, according to their unofficial depth chart. No. 2 is Dameon Pierce, who led the squad in rushing in 2022. Before you reach Akers at No. 5, there’s Jawhar Jordan and Dare Ogunbowale. It appears that Akers will have a difficult time breaking into the team, let alone getting playing time.

However, he made an impression on Thursday, enough so that NFL Network’s Gregg Rosenthal predicted he would make the roster. Akers gained just 13 yards on five carries in the end, but he also added two receiving touchdowns for 18 yards and a touchdown. The team’s second-best running back, Pierce, led the group in rushing in 2022 but only averaged 2.9 yards per carry the previous season. Maybe Matt Miller said it best.

Is there a chance that Akers will be the backup running back and get some playing time? Maybe. But he got into the end zone and had some explosiveness on Thursday, so it was a nice start.

Chicago Bears RB Roschon Johnson

Last season, running back was a position where Bears trainer Matt Eberflus occasionally appeared to have a hot hand. It wouldn’t be shocking to see Khalil Herbert or Roschon Johnson earn some playing time, even if D’Andre Swift seems to be the front-runner at the moment.

With six carries and one reception for the first half of the preseason opener, Johnson had an opportunity to demonstrate his off-sense abilities.
His past game work is what makes him the most valuable player in fantasy football. In his sophomore season, the Texas native caught 34 passes for a total of 209 yards on 40 targets.

Therefore, it stands to reason that in deep point-per-reception leagues, he might be a sleeper option. However, competition for touches is the primary problem, particularly because the Bears have a potent quintet of pass catchers in tight end Cole Kmet, and wide receivers Keenan Allen, DJ Moore, and Rome Odunze.
However, Johnson has also demonstrated his effectiveness when rushing the ball; in the previous season, he averaged 4.35 yards per carry. Put simply, even though Johnson only finished the season with 115 touches (and never more than 15 in a single game), he performed admirably with the opportunities that were presented to him.

Houston Texans WR Xavier Hutchinson

Before the rain delay, Xavier Hutchinson led the team in receiving yards with five receptions on six targets for 56 yards. The former Iowa State standout had a spectacular last collegiate year (107 receptions, 1,171 yards, and six touchdowns). By earning him a sixth-round choice in the 2023 draft. Despite having a poor rookie campaign (eight receptions for 90 yards). He did gain some postseason experience as a result of Tank Dell and Noah Brown’s injuries. This increased his playing time.

With his remarkable abilities and commitment, Houston Texans wide receiver Xavier Hutchinson is leaving his mark on the NFL London. Hutchinson provides the Texans’ offence with a combination of speed, quickness, and dependable hands after building a solid foundation at Iowa State. His ability to run accurate routes and make crucial catches has drawn notice. Positioning him as a valuable member of the Texans’ roster.

Fans and pundits alike will be closely observing Hutchinson’s performance while the squad plays in the NFL London games. As he hopes to make a big impact on the global scene. Hutchinson is presently three columns behind the starting trio of Dell, Nico Collins, and Stefon Diggs on the Texans’ unofficial depth chart. Followed by another trio of Noah Brown, Robert Woods, and John Metchie III. Thus, work still has to be done. At 24, he demonstrates growth potential and showed promise on Thursday. By aking him a valuable addition to the squad this season.

They will address every tough question about the Jaguars and the AFC South. This week, we want to know who will practically be the top receiver for the Jaguars who will set team records for receptions, yards gained, and touchdown catches? Below is a breakdown of it:

NFL London: John Shipley

I have stated publicly that I believe Christian Kirk and Evan Engram will be the main beneficiaries of the Jaguars’ passing game. Not only have they been the only two players in the offence with whom Trevor Lawrence has a great deal of familiarity and chemistry, but this has already been the situation for two seasons running. It was evident in the offseason how Lawrence’s chemistry with those two and his two newest pass-catchers differed.

That will shift a little bit, but not sufficient to convince me that Gabe Davis or Brian Thomas Jr. will significantly reduce their target count. He had a fruitful career that lasted more than ten years. Recognized for his adaptability and defensive skills, he participated in multiple teams, producing noteworthy effects and building an identity as a dependable and committed sportsman.

NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets
NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets

Shipley has continued to be active in the sport after retiring by instructing and guiding upcoming athletes. Kirk plays a more vertical function, although they are typically targeted at the same rates. In terms of touchdowns, I do believe I will side with Davis. Neither Kirk nor Engram has had a great deal of success in the red zone with the Jaguars, but he is a big-play and red-zone danger.

NFL London: Tyler Carmona

During the previous season, there have been several notable changes made to the Jaguars wide receiver room. Although Gabe Davis and Brian Thomas Jr. were added during the offseason, Christian Kirk, who is starting his third season with the squad, will have a fresh chance to fulfil their potential in an offence lead by Trevor Lawrence. As long as his health holds, Kirk has demonstrated throughout his career that he is a reliable contributor to the position.

Meanwhile, Davis’ patchy performance in Buffalo raises some questions. Even though Brian Thomas Jr. led all Division 1 FBS participants in receiving yards the previous season, it is reasonable to assume that any rookie will likely need some time to become used to making adjustments. In Major League Soccer, Carmona continued to play professionally for several years, lending his leadership and expertise to his clubs in a big way.

The basis for his subsequent academic achievement was established throughout his playing career, which was characterized by commitment and sportsmanship. Without any personal fault, Kirk’s output did not wane in NFL London 2023. He was on track to finish with 80 receptions and over 1,000 receiving yards. Kirk is Trevor Lawrence’s most dependable and targeted wide receiver, thus I anticipate him to lead the club in receptions following Calvin Ridley’s departure. In receiving yards over the first two seasons of the league, he has placed in the top ten. In terms of receiving touchdowns and yards, I predict Davis will lead the squad.

NFL London: Kyle Nash

Thus, the effectiveness of the run game in counterbalancing the passing assault will determine a lot of this. I’m going to assume for this exercise that Travis Etienne is successfully elevated to the top by the Jaguars. Whichever tight end Evan Engram ends up with the most catches this upcoming season, it won’t matter how well Etienne runs the ball.

He showed early on that he had a strong work ethic and a natural aptitude for problem-solving, which helped him advance in his career. Nash was a multi-team player who was well-regarded for his strong arm, leadership qualities, and tactical awareness. His play and good manners made an impact that never faded. He has a successful career as a sports analyst and commentator after retiring.

NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets
NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets

He has developed several successful businesses as a result of his inventive thinking and entrepreneurial zeal, establishing him as a visionary leader. Beyond his career, Kyle is committed to having a positive influence, and he regularly participates in mentoring and community outreach projects. His legacy is being defined by his unwavering pursuit of greatness, which has made him a well-liked and significant figure in his field.

If Duval Devout don’t even have the right linebacker in their linebacking corps to defend him, how much more will Defences forget about him when they speak up about the Jaguars? It appears like Christian Kirk will easily eat up turf in 2024 when it comes to the majority of yards. Kirk has always been an advantage that offensive assistant Press Taylor and head coach Doug Pederson have counted on to be a surprise.

Most prominent Player

Even though he is the most visible and seasoned weapon in the receiver corps. He is a reliable route runner and has been the team’s #1 option when he first joined in 2022. That being said, I have Gabe Davis when it comes to touchdown catches. As of right now in his NFL London career, Davis is securing touchdowns on every sixth reception. While I believe Gabe, a bigger player with experience making challenged grabs, will probably be an exclusive option in the scoring zone in his new scheme, Brian Thomas Jr. Doubtless to have several touchdowns as well as a rookie field threat.

NFL London: Zach Schultz

My solution for receptions and receiving yards is Christian Kirk. Kirk should have more room to move and gain YAC because he has the best connection with Trevor and because of the new speed outer with Brian Thomas Jr. and Gabe Davis.

NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets
NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets

Since his arrival, Kirk has been the most trustworthy receiver. There’s no reason why that should change at this time. Gabe Davis is my choice when it comes to touchdowns. Throughout the past few seasons, Jacksonville has lacked both his stature in the red zone and his deep-threat ability. Expect Davis to contribute to the team’s improved performance in the red zone. From an early age, Zach acquired a strong enthusiasm for innovation.

His unwavering quest for dedication to greatness has defined his path through education and the workplace. Whether via ground-breaking research, business ventures, or community service, Zach has made a lasting impact on his industry. Zach is a well-respected figure in his field because of his relentless pursuit of pushing the envelope and his desire to close the disparity between theory and practice.

Throughout camp, media reporters will be present at every location to provide updates on holdout situations, injuries, and standout performances in addition to covering position battles and noteworthy new player and coach remarks. Every day of camp, we will provide updates to keep you up to date on everything. What you should know from camps around the league is as follows:

NFL London 2024: New York Giants

Veterans will report for the New York Giants 2024 training camp on Tuesday at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center.  Following an ACL tear, how will Daniel Jones appear?  It appears that Jones will be cleared to go at the beginning of training camp. In the spring, he felt “really good” after engaging in 7-on-7 exercises, and he had a trouble-free summer.

Jones, a key player relying heavily on running, is expected to participate in live field exercises during the summer, revealing his mobility status ten months post-surgery. Players frequently claim that it takes them a year to feel like they’re in their former skin. According to Jones, he was back to his pre-injury measurements last month and did not have any physical limitations. All he has to do now is demonstrate the ACL’s durability.

NFL London 2024: Philadelphia Eagles

Players for the Philadelphia Eagles 2024 training camp report to the NovaCare Complex in South Philadelphia on Tuesday. Taking a deeper look at a couple of the storylines: Did something fall apart in the late season and has it been repaired?

After a 10-1 start in 2023, the team collapsed to a 1-6 finish in the end, prompting personnel changes and a plethora of inquiries regarding the situation within the building. Matt Patricia’s role as play-caller transformed the defense from leaky to dysfunctional, largely due to differing offensive philosophies of Brian Johnson, Nick Sirianni, and Jalen Hurts.

Although Sirianni was kept on, he is now firmly under investigation and has less offensive sway. Vic Fangio was brought in to bolster the defence, while Kellen Moore took over as captain in place of Johnson. Regarding Moore and Fangio’s various directions with the ball, players are upbeat. New plans typically take time to catch on, but the Eagles will be eager to move quickly to demonstrate that the problems from a year ago are in the past.

NFL London 2024: Green Bay Packers

Rashan Gary might be in line for his best season if Tuesday’s second training camp practice serves as any indication of what he can accomplish under the new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley’s scheme.

Gary ripped off three sacks in a four-play run during the last 11-on-11 drill, capping a workout that was primarily held in the pouring rain. Bags were coming toward him from both sides of the line. It was an example of the opportunity the edge rushers will have as they move from a 3-4 defence to a 4-3 one, even though the guys aren’t in pads yet.

“Gary said, Hand in the dirt and not dropping back when asked what he thought was the main difference in Hafley’s model. Stepping out of a three-point stance feels more explosive to me. False steps can occasionally be increased when in a two-point stance; however, false steps can be eliminated by placing your hand on the ground.”

NFL London 2024: New Orleans Saints

According to coach Dennis Allen, free agent signing Chase Young is anticipated to take part “in some form” of practice on Wednesday. Due to his recovery from neck surgery in the off-season, Young has only been able to work with athletic trainers during practices.

After being added to the non-football injury list last week, wide receiver Chris Olave is also anticipated to practice in some capacity. Allen claimed Olave had a small problem. The only players who aren’t likely to practice are Tanoh Kpassagnon (Achilles), Nephi Sewell (ACL), and Juwan Johnson (foot), with Alvin Kamara expected to play.

NFL London 2024: Carolina Panthers

Outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney didn’t hesitate to set expectations, even though general manager Dan Morgan wouldn’t for a Carolina team coming off six consecutive losing seasons. In ten years, Clowney, 31, has played for three losing teams. Just the Cleveland Browns did not have a winning record during his tenure out of the six teams.

The Panthers lack a dependable player to play opposite Clowney because Amare Barno and D.J. Wonnum are both listed as physically unable to play. Right now, the pass rush is a big worry. You can read more: Top 10 quarterbacks in Jacksonville Jaguars era

NFL London 2024: New York Jets

Tuesday marked the start of Aaron Rodgers 2.0 as former Jets players reported to training camp. The team feels more prepared this time around to deal with the publicity and expectations that accompany having a quarterback who could one day be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

When Rodgers suffered an Achilles tendon injury on the fourth play of the previous season, the Jets had to learn some painful lessons. Compared to the 2023 squad, this one is more experienced and mature. On Tuesday, pass rusher Haason Reddick withdrew from training camp, causing it to face its first trial by fire. Any team should be used to distractions, but especially the Jets.

NFL London 2024: Baltimore Ravens

Josh Johnson, the backup quarterback, continued to play with the first team despite relentless pressure from outside linebacker Odafe Oweh, as Lamar Jackson, the reigning NFL Most Valuable Player, missed his third consecutive day of camp due to sickness. Coach John Harbaugh spoke with Oweh after the former first-round draft pick crashed the edge during a play.

“Harbaugh said of Oweh, “I had to pull the reins in a little bit.” He knows that we have to avoid the quarterback as much as we can. There should be no auto accidents on the road. He’s bringing it, though. Almost every play, he has been in the backfield.”

NFL London 2024: Tennessee Titans

At a news conference during training camp, general manager Ran Carthon suggested that the team would try to retain wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

“Carthon added, I think it’s a big thing, particularly for a veteran at this point in his career, that DHop understands how we feel about him. His actions here, including his acceptance of the new personnel, kind of speak for themselves about his feelings toward us and our project.”

A two-year, $26 million contract that Hopkins, 32, signed last July, is already in its last year. Last season, in his first season with the Titans, the 12-year veteran recorded 75 receptions for 1,057 yards. The majority of the Titans’ minicamp and OTA sessions included Hopkins. For Tuesday’s first day of camp, every Titans player reported.

NFL London 2024: Las Vegas Raiders

Antonio Pierce stated on Tuesday that there isn’t a clear winner in the quarterback competition between veteran Gardner Minshew and second-year returner Aidan O’Connell; nevertheless, the Raiders coach admitted he isn’t in a rush to name a starter either.

“When it makes sense and is evident, As the team arrived for training camp in Costa Mesa, California, Pierce was asked what his ideal timeline would be to identify QB1. Like, that is obvious. There’s no need to hurry. But you have to make that choice when it’s obvious.”

The Raiders may therefore need to use preseason games vs the Vikings, Cowboys, and 49ers to determine who emerges as the starter as they will not have joint workouts with another club. Last season, O’Connell finished 5-5, but he went 3-1 in the final games with eight touchdown passes and no picks. The only defeat came on New Year’s Eve vs Minshew and the Colts.

Criteria for selection

The challenge is to rank the best ten options in a clear-cut, non-debatable order. Though the order is influenced by those statistics, the best quarterbacks in Jaguars history won’t only be determined by conventional measurements. The best players, after all, got to line up under centre during crucial action, which allowed them to rack up important box-score numbers.

It concerns how something is perceived. Achievements are taken into account. A player’s long-lasting reputation within the fan base also matters. Even though the gut-it-out approach is impossible to measure, Byron Leftwich’s unwavering toughness gave him a boost. Even though Lawrence is still working on leaving a lasting legacy, his sheer talent is important.

To put it concisely, we’re evaluating a quarterback’s career holistically, weighing all of his or her accomplishments and total value to the team when ranking these players. The list of the top ten quarterbacks in Jaguars history

10. Nick Foles

After spending two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, Nick Foles signed a four-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars that could have been worth up to $102 million. Nevertheless, he sustained a broken collarbone in Week 1 vs the Kansas City Chiefs, ending his bright start. In Week 11, Gardner Minshew II took over for Foles, who was having trouble leading the offence. In the 2020 draft, he was traded to the Chicago Bears, capping his career.

9. Quinn Gray

In 2007, Jaguars backup quarterback Quinn Gray started four games and finished with a 2-2 record. He joined the organization as a rookie free agent in 2002 and remained there until the 2008 season. Although Gray’s career was characterized by 12 TD passes and five interceptions, his years as a reliable backup were crucial for a young team that had few real achievements at quarterback.

8. Blaine Gabbert

Williamson Blaine The No. 10 overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft was Gabbert, a 6-foot-4, 233-pound quarterback with a prototypical body and a cannon of a right arm. He was hindered, nevertheless, by a dismal roster, unrealistic expectations for his selection position, and an increasing number of ailments. Despite his lack of pocket presence, Gabbert was a conservative football player who finished with a 5-22 record and 51 touchdowns against 50 interceptions. Even with his outstanding performance, he was unable to advance further in the NFL.

7. Chad Henne

Alone, Chad Henne didn’t always win games, but he also didn’t always lose them. He performed his limited duties rather effectively, especially in light of his status as Blaine Gabbert’s backup and temporary starter before the Blake Bortles era started. He made 31 appearances (22 starts), finished with a 5-17 record, and completed 57.6% of his throws for 5,817 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 26 interceptions.

That was it; he managed games. Except for his early Duval career, of course. Only once, in a 43-37 loss, did Henne throw more than two touchdown passes in a game while playing for the Jaguars, but that one instance created history. On November 18, 2012, against the Houston Texans, Henne came in for an injured Blaine Gabbert and went on to throw for 354 yards and four touchdowns.

By making history as the first quarterback off the bench to accomplish so since Steve Young. Soon after, he reverted to his predetermined baseline and went on to have a long career as a reliable backup quarterback who could perform well when given the opportunity.

6. Gardner Minshew II

Gardner Minshew II’s cult of personality made him an extraordinary individual who inspired a plethora of bizarre stories about anything from his hand-breaking efforts to his moustache to his jorts and pretty much anything else. Minshew Mania was fueled by the absurdity of the undrafted Washington State player’s ascent to stardom, which further heightened the enthusiasm in Jacksonville during the 2019 season.

NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets | NFL Tickets | Jacksonville Jaguars
NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets | NFL Tickets | Jacksonville Jaguars

“During Minshew’s unexpected rookie campaign, then-Jaguars wide receiver DJ Chark Jr. stated that’s one reason donning a moustache and other such items are OK because he doesn’t let it get to him, according to Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post. Football is all he enjoys doing. He is only capable of meeting your most basic needs.”

But Minshew the Quarterback was not as famous as Minshew the Icon. Even though he replaced an injured Nick Foles in 2019 and put up impressive surface-level stats, he greatly benefited from large stats and after-the-catch efforts in games that were already out of reach for a 6-10 team.

He performed admirably in the rematch campaign until the Jaguars dealt him to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a sixth-round selection, capping a two-year run that yielded plenty of fun, a mediocre amount of excitement, and just seven wins.

5. Blake Bortles

Former Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles completed 3,687 passing yards with 21 touchdowns and 13 interceptions during his productive 2017 campaign with the Jaguars. But he found it difficult to stay error-free and to sustain his high sack totals. Despite his achievements, Bortles found it difficult to avoid errors that would have destroyed his optimism and highlight-reel moments.

Even while he left an enduring impression on the franchise’s record books, he found it difficult to avoid errors that would have destroyed his highlight-reel moments and growing hope. You can also read: NFL London 2024: Falcons, Jets, & Ravens among teams of praise

4. Trevor Lawrence

Congratulations on accomplishing the impossible if you can sum up Trevor Lawrence’s first three NFL seasons in a few words. The next set of chores is to put Humpty Dumpty back together, tickle oneself, and assist Sisyphus in moving the boulder to the top of the hill.

After selecting Jacksonville with the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Lawrence has shown unquestionable skill. However, there have been more than a few hiccups throughout the first three years of his reign due to a wide range of situations. Not much more stalling.

2021: Under the appalling guidance of Urban Meyer, Lawrence won three games as a rookie and led the NFL in interceptions.

2022: With 25 touchdowns and just eight picks, Lawrence finished eighth in the AP MVP voting and appeared to be the league’s future great quarterback.

NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets | NFL Tickets | Jacksonville Jaguars

2023: Lawrence continued where he left off, leading the Jaguars to an 8-3 record until an ankle injury caused the team’s fortunes to drastically decline. Jacksonville finished the second half horribly, finishing 9–8 and out of the postseason picture.

Negative narratives are a result of the 24-year-old quarterback Lawrence’s recovery from injuries sustained under his last coach. He faced challenging opponents in the 2023 campaign, but he persevered despite injuries. Lawrence’s career is still up in the air; he might either succeed where he left off in 2022 or find new success.

3. Byron Leftwich

Negative stories are being spread about Lawrence, a 24-year-old quarterback who is recovering from injuries sustained by his former coach. Despite facing challenging opponents, he persevered through injuries during the 2023 campaign. Lawrence’s career is still up in the air; he might either succeed where he left off in 2022 or take another step forward.

2. David Garrard

Byron Leftwich and David Garrard have a long history together, with Garrard having played in 40 more Jaguars games than Leftwich. It was difficult to distinguish between them in the rankings because they have comparable skills both individually and as a team. Until the Jags selected Blaine Gabbert in the 2011 draft, Garrard was not always the starting quarterback.

Garrard was a solid leader under centre who overcame weak defences and outperformed Leftwich’s best season in 2007, even despite his flaws like taking too many sacks and checking down too frequently. In 2009, Garrard led the Jaguars to an 11-5 record, earning a triple-digit quarterback rating and completing 64% of his passes for 2,509 yards and 18 touchdowns.

1. Mark Brunell

Mark Brunell, a key player for the Jaguars, has set numerous career records, including 25,698 yards, 144 touchdowns, 63 wins, 13 comebacks, 17 game-winning drives, and three Pro Bowl trips. He also set a record for the team in postseasons, with 1,525 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

Remember the impact that Tony Pollard and Calvin Ridley will have on Tennessee’s new-look offence under Brian Callahan. This is only a small sample of the bewildering roster rebuild that took place this month. In the world of football, this is an exciting time. ‘Now is the time for genuine optimism. I’m here to make the NFL a happier place, therefore. These are my current favourite Schein Nine-style moves from the off-season.

1) Ravens sign running back royalty

Derrick In many respects, Henry made the right choice by relocating to Baltimore. In relation to the rich getting richer… After all, the Ravens were the league leaders in rushing last season. And they just put “King Henry” on each side of current MVP Lamar Jackson? We, the broader football-watching population, were hoping to witness that big move!

Following the squad’s disheartening loss to Kansas City, running back Henry from Baltimore has stated that he wants to join the team. Henry is a fantastic fit for the Ravens because of his dominant, physical approach. This is in line with the team’s motto, “Play like a Raven”. Todd Monken leads the offensive coordinator staff, so in Year 2, Henry should feel more at ease. This will free up the Ravens to concentrate on their new RB1, who can score touchdowns, carry the ball 15 times a game, and seal victories in the fourth quarter.

2) Falcons sign Kirk Cousins

Depending on the week, Kirk Cousins’ position in the quarterback power rankings ranges from 8 to 16. He consistently ranks in the top 12. Furthermore, Captain Kirk is a huge improvement over the sloppy play that was played at the position in Atlanta the previous season. I’m excited to watch how well the quarterback gets along with Rondale Moore and Darnell Mooney, the two recently acquired receivers, as well as the underappreciated Drake London.

He’ll make this offence click and make the most of tight end Kyle Pitts. The all-around back will transform into a weekly game-changer, and Bijan Robinson will no longer be a flashy hood ornament. New Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson, who excelled in the Shanahan/O’Connell system, will be calling plays for the cousins.

Atlanta has elite skills. I also like the defence led by Jessie Bates. The Raheem Morris hire was also fantastic. The brilliant move that makes everything come together is signing Cousins. The Falcons can win the NFC South and finish in the top four of the conference with this kind of move.

3) Chiefs vow to continue working with Chris Jones

Chris Jones is a bigger factor in the Chiefs’ continued success in the Super Bowl than Travis Kelce. Even if Kelce is a legend. No, his age doesn’t concern me. He’s not quite thirty years old, and the best players can age gracefully at defensive tackle. Jones is still in charge. In the biggest situations, he produces his best plays. Before Tyler Bass’s failed field goal late in the Divisional Round victory, do you recall the second-and-9 situation at Buffalo? What about the Super Bowl overtime third-down pressure on Brock Purdy that forced San Francisco to settle for a field goal?

4) For Brian Burns, the Giants traded Saquon Barkley

This trade with Brian Burns was a complete scam. Trade a first-round selection, a fifth-round pick, and a Day 3 pick for a top-tier pass rusher? Recall that in October of 2022, Carolina allegedly declined an offer that included two first-round selections for Burns. Oh no. The general manager of the Giants, Joe Schoen, must strengthen his defence.

Burns is a pure pass-rushing machine. Yes, after Pro Bowl runs in 2021 and 2022, his output did indeed decline slightly in the previous year. To be fair, the Panthers of 2023 were a complete wreck. Burns is a revolutionary. On the defensive end, the Giants will now pair him alongside Dexter Lawrence and Kayvon Thibodeaux. That sounds fantastic.

NFL London Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets | NFL Tickets

The Giants’ decision to not pay Saquon Barkley was a wise one, as he will solve a struggling unit and reduce blitzing. The Eagles’ decision to add Barkley was also wise, as he is a vital component of a strong team.

5) Texans add Danielle Hunter, Joe Mixon

With quarterback C.J. Stroud and head coach DeMeco Ryans making strong 2023 debuts, I think the Texans are ready to rule the AFC. And I adore it when close-knit young teams put in the effort to advance and compete with the bigger teams. Naturally, the Texans will be favoured in a postseason game against the Chiefs led by Patrick Mahomes if they have an edge-rushing tandem in Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson Jr. Joe Mixon.

He is a running back with the ability to outpace Kansas City’s defence, is unquestionably an improvement at the position. This is a legitimate team. Get used to Houston being a major player in the AFC championship race. The quarterback, the coach, and the Texans’ unwavering desire to improve are all there.

6) Buccaneers run it back

Before free agency began, I interviewed the longtime Bucs player Lavonte David for my SiriusXM radio show, and he gave me the lowdown. Mike Evans, a seasoned wide receiver who is expected to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. They should stay in Tampa, according to the linebacker. Baker Mayfield was a quarterback for the Buccaneers whose play and good leadership inspired the entire building during the previous year’s playoff campaign.

Being one of the top safeties in the league at age 25. Regarding David personally. What can be said? The backbone of the Bucs, who loved the city and the team and the concept of playing for one team his whole career, longed to remain in Tampa.

7) Packers sign Josh Jacobs, Xavier McKinney

The Raiders reportedly traded for running back Josh Jacobs, and general manager Brian Gutekunst chose to select former Giant Xavier McKinney as a safety instead. The move stunned Green Bay, which is renowned for its draft-and-develop strategy. Just as it was unexpected to learn that Jacobs is regarded as one of the top running backs in the league.

8) Raiders hand Christian Wilkins the BAG

Josh Jacobs was lost, but the Raiders acquired a real game-changer on the opposing side of the ball. I would hate for this signing to be overlooked among the chaos of free agency. Not that giant of a man and threat at defensive tackle Christian Wilkins could ever get lost. For crying out loud, he just inked a $110 million contract. However, I continue to believe that the move isn’t receiving the recognition it merits.

Wilkins is well worth the money, having just had an outstanding nine-sack campaign in Miami. For opposition offences, having him play on the same defensive line as Maxx Crosby is a nightmare come true. You may also like: Top head coach Ranking of NFL London 2024

9) The Jets add four offensive starters and a legit backup quarterback

Mike Williams, who is recuperating from an ACL injury, might be able to enhance Garrett Wilson’s exceptional abilities. In 2024, the Jets’ receiving tandem might rank in the top five. The Jets may also be able to acquire three seasoned offensive line starters: John Simpson, Tyron Smith, and Morgan Moses. To add depth and stability, the Jets may think about adding an offensive lineman or trading up for Marvin Harrison Jr. with the No. 10 overall choice.

New York Jets vs Minnesota Vikings Tickets | NFL London Tickets | NFL Games 2024 Tickets | NFL Tickets | NFL UK Tickets | NFL London 2024 Tickets

The offensive line of the Jets would have alternatives thanks to this. In the meantime. If Rodgers is injured once more. Tyrod Taylor is the best insurance. The seasoned signal-caller represents an improvement over New York’s outmatched backups from the previous campaign. The Jets should make the playoffs, even though no one wants to hear it. In terms of this franchise, whatever we speculated about during the previous season ought to be possible in NFL 2024.

Top head coach Ranking of NFL London 2024

A coach’s plans won’t always be enough to advance a team; personnel is just as important as the quarterback, who is frequently only as good as his supporting cast. Still, certain NFL London 2024 contenders have established leaders on their coaching staffs, while others continue to seek out such consistency.

Here’s a comprehensive list of coaches with the strongest big-game resumes, if that’s all that interests you. If not, the following is how we would rank all 32 head coaches in the league before the 2024 season begins:

32. Dennis Allen (Saints)

Allen has often shown that he is capable of providing a strong defence. Despite being a conservative coach during crucial moments, he has failed to produce a single postseason berth in his more than four years as an NFL head coach. New Orleans postponed a rebuild to provide an experienced roster, but the head coach remains focused on his close relationship with former coach Sean Payton.

31. Jerod Mayo (Patriots)

At 38 years old, Mayo at least seems more approachable and honest than his longtime predecessor, Bill Belichick. He was also directly involved in the recent fierce defences of New England. Even so, given that he is essentially an extension of the previous government, it’s difficult to predict if he will be sufficient to mark the necessary shift away from its antiquated ideals.

30. Brian Callahan (Titans)

Could it be that Callahan invented the quarterbacks, or the quarterbacks created Callahan? The former offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals’ popularity as a head coach has a lot to do with his relationships with legendary players like Peyton Manning, Matthew Stafford, and most recently, Joe Burrow. In Tennessee, at the very least, his offensive emphasis should be a welcome shift.

29. Robert Saleh (Jets)

Does the building accept Saleh well? Does he still have the ability to orchestrate defences? Zach Wilson leading numerous playoff-calibre teams, he and general manager Joe Douglas have managed more of a reality show than a dependable football organization in New York. All of us relying on Aaron Rodgers to get back to his former glory is a reasonable assumption.

28. Antonio Pierce (Raiders)

Pierce, the temporary head coach of Las Vegas until 2023, is attempting to break the pattern of highly touted stand-ins who falter after making a quick transition. He is a complete unknown, having only six years of combined coaching experience in the NFL and colleges. But team executives quickly embraced his brash nature, so perhaps the underdog narrative will gain more traction if he can finally figure out quarterbacking.

27. Jonathan Gannon (Cardinals)

His 2023 debut was, as expected, uneventful; a last-minute quarterback switch preceded a 1–8 start, but in the latter stages, his team was remarkably competitive, especially with Kyler Murray just returning from ACL rehabilitation. It’s reasonable to wonder how far his Cardinals can advance in Year 2 with a lineup still being assembled.

However, his often quirky, sometimes hard-nosed leadership style seems to be improving. You may also like: NFL London 2024 Rosters Ranking: Top expected starting lineups

26. Matt Eberflus (Bears)

With Caleb Williams and a wealth of experienced weapons joining this offseason, perhaps no coach will gain more from a personnel turnover in 2024. Chicago has also placed a wager on Eberflus’s recent comeback as a defensive strategist. Following a dismal year and a half marked by staff upheaval during the season and an unpredictable offence, his “D” finally sprang to life in late 2023, raising the possibility of a wild-card push.

25. Mike Macdonald (Seahawks)

Macdonald, the 36-year-old head coach of the NFL, doesn’t appear like the new kid on the block, even though he trained under football luminaries Jim and John Harbaugh. Although his offensive line options are uncertain, he seems like an ideal fit on the opposing side of the ball after managing the Baltimore Ravens’ top-five scoring defence for the last two seasons.

23. Raheem Morris (Falcons)

Morris was only 32 years old when he was hired by the Buccaneers in 2009. Morris also had a 4-7 record in 2020 as the Falcons’ interim coach. With a highly regarded demeanour and astute defence best demonstrated by the Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl victory, he has redeemed a position at the top more than ten years later. In Atlanta, paired with former Rams teammate Zac Robinson, he might quickly advance to the postseason on his own.

22. Todd Bowles (Buccaneers)

Similar to his NFC South opponent Dennis Allen, Bowles, who went 2-1 as the Miami Dolphins’ interim in 2011, is known for his tough defence that can conceal more cautious game management that makes him a potential wild-card contender. Nevertheless, he has led a playoff victory and received a Super Bowl ring in the past four years, which has given him a little more power.

21. Brian Daboll (Giants)

After two very different seasons to begin his Big Blue tenure, Daboll was a difficult nut to crack. He was the legitimate Coach of the Year in 2022, reviving Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley on their way to an unexpected playoff run. However, in 2023, he faltered as both a sideline maestro and a situational play-caller. Once more, he must make the most of Jones and a struggling offence in the challenging NFC East.

20. Dan Quinn (Commanders)

Quinn’s Dallas Cowboys defence was a master at hawking the ball, as Washington witnessed personally, and his debut should be aided by the team’s concurrent injection of senior players. Is Quinn considered a step up from Ron Rivera, one wonders? Although he hasn’t guided a winning season as head coach since 2017, his teams are fierce, and from 2018 to 2020, his former Falcons finished just 18-23.

19. Shane Steichen (Colts)

Dynamic rookie Anthony Richardson only played four games in 2023 due to injury, dealing the former offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles a possibly fatal hand. Despite his near playoff appearance, Steichen changed the offence to centre it around backup Gardner Minshew. Resuming the Richardson project and maintaining the highs of his play-calling from the first season is the difficult part now.

18. Sean Payton (Broncos)

Perhaps because Payton has become so divisive, there may not be a more difficult coach to replace. He was once the renowned head coach of a highly effective New Orleans Saints team, but in his final four seasons as head coach, he has only managed one postseason victory. Now, he is starting over in Denver, most likely with rookie quarterback Bo Nix.

17. Mike McCarthy (Cowboys)

McCarthy has a stronger résumé than most; his 167 career victories rank him 18th all-time, and his Super Bowl climax shows he can prevail in the biggest game. The problem is that, despite having an all-star setup in Dallas, his offensive ability has continuously and recently failed to materialize when it counts most: his Cowboys are 1-3 in the playoffs after three consecutive seasons with twelve wins.

NFL London Tickets | NFL Tickets

16. Doug Pederson (Jaguars)

It seems like Pederson’s teams never have any dull moments: After leading Trevor Lawrence back to health in Jacksonville after experiencing ultimate highs (winning the Super Bowl) and lows (being benched early) in Philadelphia, he oversaw a turnover-plagued regression in 2023. He still has that player-friendly pizzazz, but he needs to demonstrate once more that he can manage the offence creatively.

To create our final list, which goes from best to worst in the league, we asked NFL analysts Mike Clay, Aaron Schatz, and Seth Walder to evaluate every NFL squad. We then combined their rankings. The players’ output, age, and talent were all taken into consideration. According to Clay’s estimates, the 32 teams’ strongest and weakest players, Walder’s X factors to keep an eye on, and Schatz’s nonstarters for the 2024 campaign are all revealed.

1. San Francisco 49ers

Biggest strength: The 49ers re-signed TE George Kittle, RB Christian McCaffrey, WR Brandon Aiyuk, and WR Ricky Pearsall for 2024 with a first-round pick. These arrivals offer possible alternatives for underappreciated players as well as depth in offensive skill positions.

Biggest weakness: The 49ers have a strong offensive line, led by star linebacker Trent Williams. Since Matt Pryor is no longer a member of the roster, there is continuity. Coach Kyle Shanahan needs to make plans since returning starters like Banks, Brendel, Feliciano, Burford, and McKivitz have promise.

2. Kansas City Chiefs

Biggest strength: Despite a decline in scoring, two-time league MVP Patrick Mahomes has won three Super Bowl MVP awards and has established himself as the league’s top player. His hegemonic rule is far from ended.

Biggest weakness: The four-year, $80 million contract Kansas City has with RT Jawaan Taylor, who battled in 2023 and finished in the top 10 in terms of pressures, hits, and rushes allowed, is still a serious worry. Competing left tackles include Kingsley Suamataia, Lucas Niang, and Wanya Morris.

3. Baltimore Ravens

Biggest strength: A first-round selection in 2022, Kyle Hamilton has developed into a safety superstar, recording 80 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 3.0 sacks while being named to the first team of the Pro All-Pro team. Top safety Marcus Williams is ranked sixth in passes defended and tenth in interceptions.

Biggest weakness: John Simpson and Kevin Zeitler, who combined for 93.4% of Baltimore’s guard snaps in 2023, left during the offseason. The organization made relatively little effort to replace the two, with Andrew Vorhees, Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu, Josh Jones, a journeyman rookie, and Ben Cleveland, a 2023 backup, the best choices to start in the late rounds of the 2023–24 draft. Arguably, this is the weakest guard scenario in the league.

4. Detroit Lions

Biggest strength: A line of attack. Once again, Detroit boasts an exceptional line. Out of the five starters from 2023, four are back: Frank Ragnow, Graham Glasgow, the dynamic guard, Taylor Decker and Penei Sewell, the standout tackles. Jonah Jackson was the lone departure during the offseason, and Kevin Zeitler was signed by Detroit to replace him. Each of the five expected starters saw over 1,000 plays and finished 2023 with solid to excellent PFF grades.

Biggest weakness: Here’s when I start to get picky because this roster is excellent and well-balanced. Depending on how Brian Branch is used, safety may even prove to be an advantage. With 72% of his snaps coming at cornerback last season, the versatile Branch was Detroit’s main slot corner, a position he is expected to keep in 2024. Ifeatu Melifonwu and Kerby Joseph would then be the team’s top.

5. New York Jets

Biggest strength: New York’s cornerback trio, including Sauce Gardner, D.J. Reed, and Michael Carter, is among the best in the league. Gardner has made the first team twice, Reed is fourth in tackles, and Carter is a top slot corner.

Biggest weakness: security. Although the Jets have a strong roster, there are some safety concerns. Chuck Clark has been added at safety in place of Jordan Whitehead, the lone Jets defender to go after playing more than 600 snaps in the previous campaign. Before missing the entirety of 2023 due to an ACL tear, Clark was rather active for Baltimore from 2020 to 2022, racking up 274 tackles.

6. Dallas Cowboys

Biggest strength: In three seasons, Micah Parsons, the best defender in Dallas, has led the pass rush victory percentage. DeMarcus Lawrence, 32, has strong rates of success in pass rush and tackle. In the draft, Marshawn Kneeland was added, and Sam Williams is back as depth.

Biggest weakness: Reversing course. For a really solid Dallas team that elected to deprioritize running back this season, this wasn’t a difficult decision. Ezekiel Elliott, who will be 29 on July 1, replaces Tony Pollard as the starting back. Elliott is a franchise legend, but at this stage of his career, he’s little more than the football version of an innings-eater.

This was demonstrated even more in New England the previous season, as he recorded below-average yards after the catch marks and yards per run for the fourth consecutive year. Furthermore, after Elliott, there’s not much to be thrilled about. You may also like: Expectation from Aaron Rodgers & Dak Prescott NFL London 2024

7. Buffalo Bills

Biggest strength: Over the last four seasons, Josh Allen has never placed worse than sixth in QBR. During all four of those campaigns, he also placed in the top 10 in terms of carries, throwing yards, passing touchdowns, dropbacks, attempts, completions, running yards and rushing touchdowns. More will be expected of Allen as WR Stefon Diggs leaves, but the 28-year-old has proven he can handle the pressure.

Biggest weakness: Since I discussed the Bills’ wide receiver depth issues in this part last year, Gabe Davis and Josh Diggs have left the team. Buffalo may have brought in some reinforcements, but the team still has a lot of work to do. First on that list is Keon Coleman, a second-round selection who, given his age, might require some time to mature. Curtis Samuel is a reliable No. 3 receiver, while Khalil Shakir, a third-year graduate, has potential as a wild card or breakout.

8. Cincinnati Bengals

Biggest strength: With Ja’Marr Chase ranking seventh in receiving yards and Tee Higgins ranking third in touchdown catches, Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase and Higgins combination is a strong force in the NFL with reliable depth options.

Biggest weakness: Despite his impressive running ability, Zack Moss is expected to be signed by the Bengals as their starting quarterback. The third-round pick in 2020, Moss, has never managed a heavy load in the passing game or a complete workload for an entire season.

9. Cleveland Browns

Biggest strength: With a high pass rush rate and great depth in Ogbo Okoronkwo and Alex Wright, Cleveland’s offensive line, headed by Myles Garrett and Za’Darius Smith, is a breakout offence in 2023.

Biggest weakness: The Browns’ running back room, with Nick Chubb listed as a weakness, is expected to remain a strength position if he recovers from a knee injury. If not, other RBs like Ford, Foreman, and Hines will take over.

10. Philadelphia Eagles

Biggest strength: With Jordan Mailata covering the left side and Lane Johnson covering the right, the Eagles own maybe the best tackle tandem in the league. In 2023, Mailata’s pass block victory rate and run block win rate placed him among the best tackles. Despite being 34 years old, Johnson performed at his peak level in 2023 and had the highest run block victory percentage of any starting tackle.

Biggest weakness: Howie Roseman, general manager of the Eagles, puts off-ball linebacker ahead of defensive end. Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Devin White, and Oren Burks are among the offseason investments. White had trouble stopping the run, but the team might benefit from Nakobe Dean’s 2022 campaign.

So let’s consider some of the NFL’s most pressing issues before the 2024 season starts as players report this week. It’s time to investigate some of the seseon’s finest mysteries.

1. Is Patrick Mahomes putting everything in Tom Brady Mode on autopilot?

Tom Mahomes has three Super Bowl victories, proving that he can modify his game to fit various lineup configurations. Together with Tyreek Hill, he won Super Bowl LIV. With Travis Kelce and the potent Chiefs defence, he won Super Bowl LVII. Mahomes’s defence has played a major role in his blazing offence.

With more receivers joining the team, the Chiefs’ offence might get better, but they still have concerns at left tackle and two veterans leaving. To remain consistent competitors, Mahomes and Reid will need to adjust to the present personnel.

2. Jerry Jones will have to acknowledge that his team isn’t all in if the Cowboys sign Dak Prescott.

Jerry Jones might not be all in for 2024, but it’s unlikely that he’ll let Dak Prescott go. The three-time Pro Bowl quarterback for the Cowboys has contributed to the team’s 36 regular-season victories and playoff conversation. It’s dangerous to lose a Pro Bowl quarterback, and with Trey Lance in the starting lineup, the Cowboys must maintain their competitiveness. The Cowboys are giving Prescott a lot of thought because of his possible high cost and potential irrelevance.

3. What’s the ceiling like for 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy?

Due to elbow surgery, Purdy a nominee for the 2023 MVP award has had a successful offseason. Purdy’s 2023 stats should be met or surpassed by the 49ers with the return of starters and the addition of draft picks. Still, it’s unclear if the Niners can reliably defend Purdy with a haphazard offensive line. Purdy’s physical prowess might make it easier for him to weather the NFL season.

4. Jordan Love is dubbed the NFL’s next superstar by a teammate in the Packers. How much better can Love get?

After spending three seasons behind Aaron Rodgers at quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, Josh Jacobs is expected to be the next big thing in the NFL. Love can develop alongside the Packers’ core if he has a game plan and a plethora of receiving options. He led the youngest club to the divisional round last season while throwing for eighteen touchdowns. Love is predicted to soar into the league’s upper echelons with experience and a solid foundation.

5. Can Josh Allen’s skill make up for Buffalo’s losses on the roster from Jordan Poyer to Stefon Diggs?

Careers for quarterbacks are cyclical, and when a quarterback of the calibre of Josh Allen signs a big contract, the general manager of the team can only work magic with the cap for so long, which eventually wears down the supporting cast. Allen needs to get better from tight end Dalton Kincaid, a second-year player, and receivers Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, and Curtis Samuel. Allen can play, though, and the Bills need to keep improving if they want to win the Super Bowl.

6. This season, do the Jets have Aaron Rodgers’ teammates he needs to succeed?

Without quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the Jet’s offence saw a major setback last season, and the high offensive turnover rate might not help. Mike Williams, Tyron Smith, John Simpson, and Morgan Moses are new starters for New York in NFL 2024. Although these players are not familiar with Rodgers or offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, they do have NFL experience.

Since Rodgers’s physical state is probably going to deteriorate, the offensive line needs to guard him more skillfully than it did the previous season. A strong core of receivers, including Williams, Garrett Wilson, Gipson, Lazard, and Corley, will be part of the redesigned offensive line. 7. This preseason, will any notable players, like Brandon Aiyuk, be traded?

Star wide receiver Aiyuk of the San Francisco 49ers is probably going to be there for at least another season, even if there have been rumours that he might join Jayden Daniels in Washington. With one year remaining on his $14.1 million rookie deal, Aiyuk is wanted by San Francisco brass to stay. Deebo Samuel, though, might be moving if San Francisco can sign a long-term contract with Aiyuk.

8. Has the defence of the Lions finally reached championship level?

This year, Brad Holmes, the general manager of Detroit, has committed to having a full secondary that includes two corners and a deep defence. Now that they are deepest, the Lions’ weakest position group spreads throughout the ball. Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph are members of the adaptable secondary who can fill a variety of roles. This offseason’s additions should help the Lions get closer to the Super Bowl than they were the previous year.

9. Is the Ravens’ offensively God Mode activated by Derrick Henry?

The 30-year-old running back Henry still has a lot of football left in him, even though he has not returned to his previous level of play. Despite facing a subpar offensive line, he finished second in the league in runs last season. Henry is even more effective when paired with two-time MVP Lamar Jackson and the deadly Ravens offence. Their complementary backfield presence and two trustworthy passing targets could be the key to Baltimore’s well-rounded offence and postseason success.

10. Is there a blank slate for Russell Wilson or Justin Fields?

Josh Wilson, the quarterback for the Steelers, is paid $1.3 million annually even though the team does not want to give him $48 million. Wilson scored 26 passes with touchdowns in the previous season compared to the Steelers’ 13 and 9 picks. Fields, who is still only 25 years old, has an opportunity to shine. Should Wilson or Fields perform inadequately, Pittsburgh may proceed with a rookie or an experienced player.

11. Which group has the most chance of surprising everyone in 2024 by pulling a Texans?

According to Super Bowl odds, the Bengals and Colts are two of the finest teams in the NFL; the Bengals, with a healthy Joe Burrow, are favoured, while the Colts are tied for the 20th-best chances at 55:1. The Colts might be a dangerous wild card with Shane Steichen’s improved offence. The defence, which ranked fifth in sacks the previous season, may see an instant improvement with first-round edge Laiatu Latu.

12. How much pressure are C.J. Stroud and DeMeco Ryans under in their second season?

The Texans’ first-place schedule in 2024, which includes games against the Dolphins, Chiefs, and Ravens, puts a lot of pressure on them this season. They have signed defensive lineman Danielle Hunter and Denico Autry, linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, and star running back Joe Mixon, as well as perennial Pro Bowl receiver Stefon Diggs, to contracts worth $104.5 million. The Texans, who have three straight losing seasons before 2023, will find it difficult to adapt to this new environment.

13. Which group will 2024 leave you feeling the most let down?

The Cleveland Browns’ 11-6 record from the previous campaign was evidence of their tenacity and achievement. Although the team lost standout running back Nick Chubb and had to switch quarterbacks, Joe Flacco’s health and Deshaun Watson’s play will be key factors in determining the team’s success this season. If Chubb recovers from a knee injury, the Browns’ running game may suffer and their top defence is unlikely to return.

The team’s schedule, which places them in a challenging division, may cause a return to 8–9, which would upset Cleveland’s supporters.
