The Detroit Lions coach, Dan Campbell, has dispelled rumors about a fire sale to replace Pro Bowl defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, despite the potential for star substitutions. Players like Maxx Crosby and Trey Hendrickson are also potential targets for moves.

According to Campbell, you’re looking for a role player. Having said that, several well-known individuals could still be traded before this year’s deadline. Before the deadline, the following 16 players might be considered for a swap:

James Conner, RB, Arizona Cardinals

With its third-round selection of Trey Benson in the NFL draft in April, Arizona hinted at a potential change of guard in its backfield. Considering Conner will be a free agency following the season and the Cardinals’ current record is 2-4, it would make sense to make the move now. Hyatt, a speedy wide receiver, is highly sought after by teams seeking a versatile player with an 18.9 yards per reception average during his final season at Tennessee.

Mike Williams, WR, New York Jets

Williams was traded for Adams after Aaron Rodgers accused him of making a mistaken interception during a defeat to the Bills. The Jets reorganized their receiving group, and Jeff Ulbrich, the interim coach, complimented the abundance of pass catchers. Green and Williams may not end up together. But he might be worth a try if the Jets need a midseason boost.

Cam Robinson, OT, Jaguars

Even though Robinson’s future with the Jaguars has always appeared like a mystery. The left tackle is currently in his eighth season with the team and has the longest contract of any starter. However, re-signing Robinson beyond this season may not be in the cards for Jacksonville. As 2023 first-round pick Anton Harrison looms as a possible replacement if he switches to the right side.

If the Jaguars indicate that they would be prepared to let go. There should be little trouble finding a buyer as talented pass protectors are among the rarest and most sought-after assets on the trade market.

Walker Little, OT, Jaguars

Little, a 2021 second-round pick, hasn’t been able to establish himself on the Jaguars’ front other than starting 11 games as a replacement in the previous campaign. Though Little has spent the majority of his time at left tackle. He has also filled in at left guard and performed spot duty at right tackle. This adaptability may prove to be a big selling factor. Especially if a team suffers injuries to any of its offensive line players.

Emmanuel Ogbah, OLB/DE, Miami Dolphins

Despite Tua Tagovailoa’s third recorded concussion, which coach Mike McDaniel expects the quarterback to recover from. The Dolphins’ season, which is currently 2-3, could end quickly. If so, Miami needs to look at its options for helping to realign a roster that is thin on depth but loaded with stars.

One of the few viable prospects to be swapped for a pick is Ogbah, who turns 31 in November. Though he’s strong against the run and can fit into any defensive system, the 6-4. 275-pounder is a better bet to produce steady pressure than rack up eye-popping sack totals.

A 24-year-old with two sacks and six pressures in 26 pass rushes against the Cincinnati Bengals. May be an economical choice in a position where demand outpaces supply.

Haason Reddick, OLB/DE, Jets

Reddick’s 27 sacks over the last two years have made him the best player on the list. He was selected to the Pro Bowl twice. But there’s still a crucial question. What would it take to put an end to his hunger strike and allow him to return to the field? Given the Jets’ expressed interest and the recent hiring of agent Drew Rosenhaus, a deal might be possible.

Josh Uche, OLB, New England Patriots

Although Uche was the focus of trade deadline rumors the previous season. New England decided to hold onto the 6-1. 240-pound pass-rushing specialist and re-signed him to a $3 million, one-year contract this offseason. That being said, given the franchise’s future-oriented mentality. Perhaps the current management that brought him back will be more receptive to relocating him.

Even with his current low use percentage of 38%, Uche, 26, will probably never reach the heights of his 2022 11½-sack season. He could be a bargain for clubs that can’t afford to make a bolder move for a premium job. Though, given his inexpensive pay and track record of bothering quarterbacks.

Jonathan Jones, CB, Patriots

Jones, who is 31 years old and in the final season of his deal, doesn’t seem to be playing by the same schedule as the Patriots. They are now building around second-year standout Christian Gonzalez as their main cover man. However, teams should be attracted to a seasoned and astute coverage asset in plenty.

Budda Baker, S, Cardinals

A stir would undoubtedly result from the departure of one of the few stalwarts on the Cardinals’ woefully thin defense. Listening to offers for Baker, 28, seems like a wise approach given how extensive the team’s needs are. However, general manager Monti Ossenfort has always taken the long view in rebuilding Arizona’s roster. Every team willing to take a risk with an in-season secondary restructure should consider the six-time Pro Bowl selection because he still has a lot of playmaking range.

Andre Cisco, S, Jaguars

Cisco claimed that the Jaguars showed a great deal of quitting in their most recent defeat. It suggests that he may be approaching breaking point with the team. Through two weeks, Williams is done as the QB31 and QB29, so this may not be the week he emerges as a star.

They allowed running backs to score more fantasy points when they competed the Lions in 2023. After two games this season, Detroit leads the league against the position while playing Kyren Williams and Rachaad White.

Compared to other wide receivers with at least 17 targets in 2024, Amari Cooper has 27 receiving yards, which is 62 fewer. The 30-year-old ranks among the top 20 in anticipated fantasy points per game and third in the league in air yards.
