As always at the Goodwood Revival, it’s not just a plethora of incredible cars and bikes in action on the famous Goodwood Hill, more often than not they’re being driven to Molecombe by someone very special. Many of the world’s most famous and celebrated racing drivers have graced the Hill Climb over the past three decades, and this year we’ve added reigning three-time Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen to the list as the headliner.
Enthusiasts of Goodwood Revival 2024 have the option to purchase Goodwood Revival Tickets via our online platform, eticketing.co. Fascinated persons can secure Goodwood Revival Tickets on our website at reduced prices.
However, he won’t be the only Formula 1 champion at the Goodwood Revival as he takes to the hill in his award-winning Red Bull RB16B on Sunday 14 July. He will be joined by 2005 and 2006 champion Fernando Alonso, who will drive the new Aston Martin Valiant on Friday the 12th, and 1974 champion Emerson Fittipaldi, who will return to the Festival of Speed to drive his award-winning McLaren M23.
Verstappen will also joined by many of his other colleagues on the grid for the current 2024 Formula 1 season. Teammate Sergio Perez will also take to the hill in the record-breaking RB19, as will Daniel Ricciardo in the 2011 championship-winning RB7.
The current Formula 1 line-up this year is completed by Williams teammates Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant, who will share driving duties for the FW08 championship-winning season under Keke Rosberg in 1982.
Legends of Motorsport coming to Goodwood Festival of Speed
The king himself, seven-time NASCAR champion Richard Petty will star throughout all four days of the Festival of Speed as we celebrate the life and career of one of motorsports’ most charismatic figures. He will celebrated with a special moment on the balcony on Friday 12 July.
Ex-F1 Drivers to see at the Goodwood Revival
The list doesn’t end there, and it doesn’t get any less exciting. Thirteen-time Formula 1 Grand Prix winner David Coulthard and eight-time winner Mark Webber will join Red Bull’s cohort of 2013 World Championship-winning RB9 and RB6 stars. Christian Klien and Patrick Friesacher complete the list of Red Bull alumni heading to the Festival of Speed in 2024.
Junior Drivers set to Star at the Goodwood Revival
However, as always, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is as much about looking to the future as it is about remembering the past. Visitors will have the opportunity to see several future motorsport stars in action on the Hill over four days, many of whom will be getting their first experience behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car.
Alpine will also bring three of its Academy drivers to the Festival of Speed. Current Alpine F1 reserve driver Jack Doohan will be in the E20 F1 car, as will current F2 driver Kush Maini and F3 stalwart Sophie Floersch.
Goodwood Revival: the cars to look out for
The Goodwood Revival has become a major event on the UK motoring calendar. The Goodwood Festival of Speed (FOS) is truly a spectacle, from watching Formula One drivers tackle the infamous Goodwood hill climb to pre-war cars blazing in flames and the greatest rally cars taking to the special stage.
Goodwood is also increasingly being used by manufacturers to display and showcase their latest metal, and 2024 will no exception, with a number of important world debuts or cars being seen by the public for the first time. Here’s the full preview, along with key information on how to get there and how you can still get tickets.
Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale
Alfa Romeo is returning to supercar territory with the 33 Stradale. Limited to just 33 units, the lucky few who pick it up can opt for a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged petrol engine or use it as an electric vehicle.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024, announced in August 2023, will mark the first time the 33 Stradale will seen outside of Italy. The new Alfa Romeo Milano electric SUV will also unveiled at the West Sussex festival.
Aston Martin Valiant
Aston Martin is currently heavily involved in limited-edition special offerings, and the latest is the Valiant, a more track-focused variant of the Valour. What makes it even more famous is the fact that it originally commissioned by Fernando Alonso as a collaboration between the two-time world champion and Q Division Aston Martin.
The Valiant is a true masterpiece: a 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine producing 735 hp, a manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. It makes its worldwide debut at FOS and will driven by Alonso on Friday on the 1.16-mile climb. You can also read Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024: A Timeless Celebration of Vintage Motorsports.
BMW M5 at the Goodwood Revival
BMW tends to throw out everything it has at Goodwood, and this year is no exception, with a host of new hardware to revealed at FOS, including the new X3 SUV, the M135 and the facelifted M2. But the most important car will be the new BMW M5 just a couple of weeks after its first reveal.
Now that it uses a plug-in hybrid setup, it’s controversial due to its hefty weight – it now weighs 2.4 tonnes, 500kg more than its predecessor – and with slightly worse performance on paper. Whatever you think, this will be your first chance to see him in person at the Festival of Speed.
Ford Mustang GTD
Ford’s latest project is the Mustang GTD, developed after hours by engineers who had the idea of winning over European sports car manufacturers with their quintessential muscle car. Inspired by the GT3 Blue Oval cars, it is designed for the track but can also be homologated for the road.
Ford is really looking to conquer 911 GT3 RS territory with its new Mustang, and it will make its UK debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The GTD will cost from £315,000. GTD numbers will very limited as Ford is currently accepting submissions through a dedicated website.
Land Rover Defender Octa
The Defender has been a huge success since its rebirth in 2020, and Land Rover continues to expand the SUV’s capabilities, including a 5.0-litre V8 engine under the bonnet.
But the company has gone even further with the Defender Octa, which made its dynamic debut at FOS just a week after its unveiling on July 3rd. Using BMW’s 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, it aims to showcase a new dimension to this SUV.
MG HS
MG is actively participating in FOS this year and will even install the famous centerpiece sculpture in front of Goodwood House for the first time as it celebrates its centenary. It is likely to showcase a number of classic models from its past, as well as mark the start of sales and deliveries of its new Cyberster electric sports car.
The company will also unveil the new generation of its HS SUV at this year’s Festival of Speed. The HS is MG’s largest SUV in Europe and has been in high demand in recent years due to its exceptional value. Expect more premium design inside and out, with the plug-in hybrid model said to offer “unmatched electric range in its class.”
RB17 hypercar
Perhaps the most anticipated presentation at Goodwood this year is Red Bull’s first hypercar. It’s been a long time coming and is the brainchild of Formula 1 designer Adrian Newey. Although the firm has confirmed that Newey will relinquish his Formula 1 design duties and leave the company entirely in 2025, the final development of the RB17 is currently his primary focus.
It is designed specifically for track use and is powered by a V10 mild hybrid engine derived from Formula 1. Just 50 of them will built, at a rate of 15 per year, and each is rumored to cost £5 million. It will be a big moment when you see the RB17 for the first time.
