James Jimmy Wofford the ex- Olympic Equestrian Eventing well-known trainer and author died on 2 February aged 78, from pancreatic cancer. Born in Kansas Mr. Wofford came from an equine family and was the youngest of four brothers. His father Col John Wofford rode in the US riding team at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics. His oldest brother Jeb won a bronze medal in eventing at the 1952 Helsinki Games and his brother Warren was a standby for the showjumping. And eventing teams at the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne.

Mr. Wofford attended Culver Military Conservatory in Indiana and then studied at the University of Colorado. Thunderbird Show Park celebrates 50 years at Paris 2024

In April, Thunderbird Show Park in Langley will commence its 50th season. To mark the bicentenary the equestrian venue publicized on Valentine’s Day Feb 14.
