Although the New Year’s Eve celebration can be expensive, hectic, and full of expectations, it’s also a chance to stay warm inside or have a fantastic night out. This is an excellent chance to gather the family, prepare a picnic, and spend a night in a few of our city’s lovely undeveloped areas,” Nelita explains.

People are encouraged to consider wisely and come up with inventive solutions to reduce their waste this year.

“We are dedicated to minimizing our impact on the environment while offering community gatherings in an environmentally sustainable way,” Nelita explains. We’re encouraging people to do their part by using the on-site recycling bins provided by the council and providing their own mugs and water bottles.”

While it’s a time for celebration for humans, Tauranga City Council’s Team Leader for Animal Services, Brent Lincoln, advises keeping a watch on your dogs during the celebrations as fireworks can be scary for them.

“The majority of us appreciate the exploding and vivid colours of firework displays, however, our furry friends are unlikely to be as delighted,” Brent explains. Keep in mind all your household wildlife, regardless of size, are warm and safe for the night.”

“Additionally, make sure the Council has your most recent contact information and that your dog is microchipped. This will help us get in touch with you as soon as possible in the event that your dog escapes during this period.”

A coordinated display of fireworks will be released from multiple points at midnight, providing a visual spectacle for a significant section of the city.

The public address systems will only be utilized in an emergency and all noise will be minimized to the greatest extent possible. Mount Maunganui: Blake Park

At Blake Park, locals and visitors to Mount Maunganui will celebrate as one big community. Live music, roaming entertainment, food trucks, sporting events, and fireworks at 9.30 p.m. are all anticipated by the locals.
