Japan will face the British and Irish Lions in Edinburgh next month with a team. That includes 19 players who helped them to the quarter-finals of the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Head coach Jamie Joseph has announced that the 36-man roster will play a warm-up match. Against the former Sun Wolves Super Rugby team on Monday, June 12. Before the Lions take on Ireland at Murrayfield in Scotland on 26 June and Ireland in Dublin on 3 July.

The team, captained by World Cup captain Michael Leitch, includes 23 players with a total of 476 test caps. It also contains 16 players who took part in the Japan Top League club final on Sunday. Including seven from the Panasonic Wild Knights, who crowned national champions.
